I was 6 and even though I didn't know what it was called, I did it everyday. No, no one hurt me sexually to make me learn of that part of my body at age 6. I discovered it on my own. I also stopped sucking my thumb at age 6.

Think about this. If an alien came to earth and ran into a human don't you think he will assume that we all have one language. If we were to go to another planet and find a whole new world with aliens on it, and we ran into one and started tryint to communicate with it, wouldn't we assume that is there only language. dogs have there own language, cats have there own language. isnt it wierd tha we have so many, and yet were the same species?

Here's the thing. I have a profound hearing loss from life long ear infections and improper treatment.
I know sign language. I use it for jury duty and important things (I depend on sign and lipreading) but I dont use it in normal every day life. Why? Because while I can sign fairly well, when I read someone signing back to me in casual conversation I freeze up, panic and cant understand a single word they sign.
I cant hear well enough to deal with hearing people..I cant hear anything under 70 db.
I am a hermit and so miserable. What am I to do?

I think I have met a man that is into domination. Before sex, he tied my hands so I couldn't get loose, and then proceeded to tell me that I had to ask permission for certain things, or else I would be punished more. He didn't get rough with me or anything, I just thought the whole thing was a little wierd. Does anyone like this stuff? If so, how do I learn how to be submissive? I am used to being the dominant one with my partners.

The other two major religions Christianity and Islam are very diverse. Is it because they are constantly recruiting new members and the Jews don't.

Taking this from an answer I saw on another question. I don't see it as dangerous. As a matter of fact I find it quite amusing that someone would suggest that. Some interpretations might make it dangerous, but interpretations can make anything dangerous...for example: Beatle's songs (Charles Manson), Comets (Heaven's Gate cult), Dog barks (Son of Sam). If you make the choice to do something bad you can blame your wrong doing on your interpretation of just about anything, certainly the Bible would not be exempt.

So, if the Bible is dangerous...what makes it more dangerous than say, you employee handbook or a guide for Windows.

Anyone care to explain or discuss?

My parents are Baptist, and I was raised as a Baptist. However, since I got to college 4 months ago, I have been exploring my own faith, and have decided to begin the RCIA process to become Catholic. Mom and Dad didn't take well to hearing that I had gone to mass in the first place...and I'm not sure how to break it to them that I'm leaving the Protestant church for the Catholic one.

I'm not going to let their protests stop me, but I don't want them to worry for me...they think that Catholics aren't Christians, and have all these deeply ingrained misconceptions about Catholic beliefs. How can I convince them that they don't need to be concerned for my mortal soul, and that Catholics are Christians too?

Please note: I would like answers from Catholics, or at least people who are well-informed about the Catholic faith. I know what a lot of Protestants mistakenly assume about Catholics, and I know it's not true. Thank you.
