No, I took it down yesterday and just about broke my heart because it was so beautiful to look at - wasn't in anyone's way but it was time to take it down. All we have to do is to look for next year and have have that same hope for happiness that 'last year's Xmas tree' bought us. By the way, not many gifts were put under that tree this year as the money was pretty well sparse but the love was there and we, well, had a good tiime with what we had and what we had to give in our hearts. I know that that tree know it all!!

we took ours down last night.

There seems to be at least two different times people take their trees down..

some people have a tradition to take it down before New Years Day as they believe that leaving it till the new year will mean that the sadness and bad things that took place during the year will be carried through to the next year if you have the tree still standing....

I was brought up to believe it was bad luck to pack the tree up before eight days AFTER christmas .. LOL .. no explanation given it was JUST what we did..

the REAL reason why we took ours down was that it just takes up TOO much room in our little lounge room :)

all the best to you and yours and all the question askers and answerers :) for 2007.

Christmas season ends with the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the temple, February 2. But we have taken down our tree.

No. I took it down at about 11:58pm on Christmas night. The begining of Kwanzaa preperation.

Yes. It's an artificial one and not a fire hazard. I like to leave it up for weeks. Why not?! It's so beautiful..... One year I left a real tree up until Easter. It was in water and did not dry out!!!

Nope. Ours was taken to the garage a couple days before New Years Eve.

No, but you should take yours down really soon. A dry christmas tree can really be hazardous... u know, there's a possibillity that the lights might scorch it.
