I was wondering if anyone has the answer to this. Both the Greek and Roman gods were called the Pantheon, which was also a building they were worshipped in. The Greek gods had Mount Olympus as an official home, but where did the Roman gods live?

Seems to me that through out history all conflicts have been based on either religion or greed. Thoughts?

would you make your own holy book with it's own set of laws. eg like the bible, torah and quran? also would you allow each human into heaven and destroy hell. basically if you were god, how would you act?

I ask because, for the most part, it seems to fit in pretty well with my beliefs. I will therefore also ask if there are any deists here at Yahoo answers. And if so, do you attend religious services? Or is your spiritual life fairly individualistic? To me, it seems that most deists would have a personal spiritual life as opposed to attending regular services. That's just based on what I have read about them, anyway.

Also, do Deists tend to believe in an afterlife?

Why are women deceptive, conniving, manipulative, selfish, emotionally driven bitches? Why is it that everything they say, think, or do involves some emotion clouding logic and reality and influencing their behavior? Why is it that you can point out the God's honest truth to them for hours at a time to no avail, frustrating only yourself and them in the process? Why is it that they live in a fantastic world where nothing is free from their distorted perceptions? Yeah. Good question, huh?!

Well, yeah, there's the whole doctrine that he "died for everyone's sins" and so forth, so the question is, why is that such a big deal? I mean if we look at things objectively, Christ suffered for a few days, though a not-all-that uncommon punishment of the day, and ultimately, after a short while back on earth, went back to being a third of a completely divine being, gaining omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, and omnibenevolance forever. Now, really, going to that from fully human shell, doesn't seem like a horrible deal.

What alternative did he have but to die? If he was both fully human and fully divine, then the fully human part would be subject to death eventually, so then would the sacrifice of God sending his son to die being the time Jesus speant on earth?... Wouldn't it be in both God's and Jesus's best interest for him to die sooner?

I'm sure I can get some insightful response to this, as it never quite made sense to me why it was a big deal.

Okay, so the dude who created Kwanzaa did some really awful stuff in his life. He was also deemed schitzo at the time. Does this mean Kwanzaa shouldn't be celebrated? It's basic principles are still pretty good (unity, self-determination, collective work & responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith), and it celebrates the contributions made by African Americans. It's not a religious holiday, so it doesn't have to interfere with Christmas. What are your EDUCATED thoughts on the subject? Is it something that should be left alone, or is it something that should be celebrated by more people?

I recently got the bright idea to spray paint my cars old plastic wheel covers with silver paint. (By the way, it worked great.) But on to my question...I went to one of our famous department stores to purchase the paint and while checking out the cashier very loudly said "You aren't going to huff this are you?" I was shocked and said "Excuse me." She repeated the question even louder prompting looks from everyone in line behind me and people from four aisles down. Embarressed to death I just said "Of course not. I'm painting my hubcaps because they look horrible." First of all, I didn't realize Wal-mart cashiers were the paint police but I was absolutely humiliated (some of the people were even aquaintances of mine.) What would your response be to such a question?
