There is a lot of drama, hype and misinformation. My small voice of truth is drowned out.
The Mayan Long Count calendar rolls over from 12 Baktuns to 13 Baktuns on 12-21-2012. (A baktun is 396 years long.) It's just like going from 1999 to 2000. People attach meaning to it that might not be there. The calendar doesn't end, time doesn't end, the world doesn't end. But that's boring.
Also on that day is a grand astronomical alignment (once very 26,000 years due to precession) between the sun and the milky way at dawn. To the Maya this signified the rebirth of the sun--a new world age, but it does NOT mean Armageddon. It's energetic. But the end of the world is more interesting, and that's what everyone wants to hear about.
BTW, calendars don't predict. They measure time.

You mean the world ending on December 21, 2012 after 3 days of Darkness. Nope no truth too it at all. Its just something that keeps being repeated in my head everytime I have a dream.

No but if you go to 'New World Order' You will see that a One World Govt. is in the making for the near future. The Patriot Act, Martial Law, Eminent Domain and FEMA(not just for disaster victims) are just the tip of the iceberg. The sites(which I am not the author of) foretell of gun control, non-religion, dispersing of families, forced sterilization, kids run by govt., property owned by govt., a percent of population 'eliminated' and FEMA camps for Patriots apprehended by militia plus much more.

Why do you guys keep bringing this thing up by the Mayans? I've known about this for years and just NOW people are talking about it? Weird.

Look, don't take it seriously. If there IS a change it's probably positive, but predictions are just that... predictions. Don't take them at face value.

The Mayan calender has been correct thus far...and yes, I believe something big will happen as the calendar implies, however, if you're asking , is that when the rapture will take place, here is your answer: No one knows the hour or the day, so be forever watching as one who expects a thief to come in the night to steal his things. Always be ready.

Was there any truth to the idea of 2000? I'm still alive and the world hasn't exploded.
