Would you hire a nanny or babysitter without meeting and interviewing several?
Would you buy a car without test-driving a few different ones?
If you owned your own business, would you hire an employee without interviewing them first?
Would you buy a stock without comparing it to others?

If you did these things, would it not be considered unwise or irresponsible?

How did you chose your religion?

Don't get me wrong, I like a few drinks on a night out and have been known to get drunk, but I was wondering....having visited a country in Europe that has severely restricted the sale of spirits and heavily taxed beer sales (to a point where they are merely a treat now and then) and seen such a different culture with people in their daily life.... it made me wonder whether such a move could ever happen in the UK?

Thinking about the savings in the Health service not to mention the populations health improvements as a whole, the police being able to tackle real crime rather than just the anti-social / drunken problems and generally just a more desirable atmosphere for everyone.

I'm in no way suggesting prohibition or anything like that, say it would be socially acceptable to have a glass or two of wine with a meal in a restaurant .... if the UK wants more of a cafe culture, would this not be the way to go?

Who knows.... such a move may even make me lose this darn beer belly!

The other morning of my 39th birthday I was awaken by the hooting of an owl, I thought I was dreaming and then realized I was not, the weird thing is, it was almost the exact time I was born. I got up to see if I could see it but it was to dark.It hooted a few more times and then it was gone. What does it mean?

There are quite a few people on here that ask questions relating their own religion and can't accept contradicting answers. Maybe it's just me, but I find that the point of asking such a question is to welcome all answers, not sort the few that agree from the rest.
I've noticed that many of them get very defensive when their beliefs are challenged by someone with an opposing perspective. No one (at least no one that I have observed) can handle this gracefully. Rafael for example asks questions like this in an attempt to convince everyone he can and does it repeatedly ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvexlTEwIyi2P.OOmYqdeuDsy6IX?qid=20061217083114AAeIm9Q I can't take arguements like this seriously; but that aside, my question is: Why do people become so defensive when they run into someone who is able to challenge their beliefs? By defensive I mean angry and further misrepresenting their arguement by acting immature rather than handling it with a bit of grace an acceptance

My God (higher power) is the ALL ,the universe,the big bang....the trees,the flowers.the clouds,the air.It is balance.Not black.not white.Its grey.
Keeping the world balanced is far more important than a single being, a God....isnt it!!!!
