Believe it or not, fundies are not necessarily stupid. What they are is psychotic, thinking they have absolute knowledge and thus the right to bully everyone else on the planet, even to the point of murdering them. So call them psychos.
I read somewhere (and really wish I'd written down the source) that 100% of child abuse occurs in fundamentalist families. It may not actually be 100% but it isn't hard to accept that the percentage is very high. Does anyone have statistics on this?
PS to whynotask: Don't insult atheists and Darwinists by grouping us with religious nuts. We are perfectly willing to change our convictions (they are not beliefs) whenever anyone can show us where we went wrong. Quoting from the Bible does not make for a legitimate argument, however.

I have a wallet full of "fundies". $100's, $50's, $20's, etc.
How lame a name, what a stupid game.
Might I suggest a more intelligent alternative to name-calling?
It's been shown that people are less receptive to name-calling, and much more responsive to REAL debates that include FACTS, not opinions. Provide evidence, not hearsay. So maybe you could try stating your cases and arguing your points without resorting to childish tactics in order to garnish attention.

It's too demeaning towards little people.
Besides, little people are sacred to the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

Probably.
I prefer the term Lackwit myself.
Or if I wish to be verbose - purposefully ignorant lackwit. Change the "lack" to any word you wish. Dropping an F-bomb with it sometimes helps you feel better.
