hello: It's been proven. The only part even in debate are the exact mechanisms.

Wayne and Brad: seek higher education. The 'macro'evolution as you say has been shown to occur as well. This is just a strawman used by creationists.

TubeDude: No. This is one part your buddy Brad got right. Ever heard of the theory of gravity?

How is it even possible to DISprove something? I think any scientist that can prove that something DOESN'T exist should win a prize, regardless of what that something may be!

A theory can never be "proven" no matter how much evidence one obtains. By nature, a theory must always be falsifiable. For example, Newtonian Mechanics were revered as scientific truths for 200 years! Then later they were disproven by Einstein. However before Einstein to many scientists, Newton's Theories were true, but in actuality they were false. In the same way macroevolution (species to species evolution) can never be proven because it is a theory that explains origins. And one day it could be disproven just like with Newton. Facts are what we observe and theories attempt to explain why or how these facts work.

Edit--
I am currently enrolled in a second level education and have rigorously studied these topics. I would suggest you learn the difference between a Law, Theory, and Fact, and also consider learning about Logic, Proof, and Truth.
Plus no where in my answer did I say evolution was true or false, you are assuming I am implying it is false. All I said is that even if evolution has much evidence it still remains falsifiable. I never committed the fallacy of the straw man.

species to species evolution takes millions of years to occur, therefore it can never be observed repeated or tested. evolution remains a theory. Brad is right, evolution is just a theory, not a fact. but that does not mean its true or false, it just has the **possibility** of being false still. so in the future someone could disprove it just like any other historic scientific theory. if people feel that evolution is inconsistent or the evidence does not back the theory, they have the freedom to disbelieve it. likewise if people like you feel that it is consistent and that the evidence does back the theory then you have the freedom to believe it as well. but in the end does it really matter? the only really thing people are fighting about is pride.

Most of the time, they just don't understand what evolution *is.* I mean, how many times has the stupid "why are there still monkeys" question turned up on this forum? :P

There must be some website out there that just feeds them these ridiculous arguments - clearly no classroom would ever mention that.

It is true. "Nature" and "Science" would be in a shooting war over who got the right to publish the paper if you could even suggest that it wasn't true with some real evidence.

So are you saying you want someone to disprove evolution?
And you are referring to "fundies"?

no they do not. They also fail to realize that there are OVER SEVENTY people who have been awarded with Nobel Laureate status for their work on evolution.

The number of people who have been awarded Nobel Prizes for their work on Creationism: ZERO!!!!

If the THEORY of evolution were true, it would be called the LAW of evolution. Wouldn't it?

No, they think that all scientists participate in a conspiracy to disprove god.
