My idea is to have a few people in a "book club" where the only book is the Bible. It would be like we would have a weekly passage assigned and over the weekend we would discuss it via email ( unless someone in the group wanted to build the online forum, I don't know how to do that). Anyone could join regardless of religion. What do you think?

Assuming it's late at night.. (if not just think of yesterday)

List all the fruit and veg you had please!?

I'm interested. Here in the UK they recommend at least 5 different fruit and veg and most people barely have 2.

So, I know that there are differences in the Koran and the Bible as far as which son Abraham was asked to sacrifice. We, as Christians believe that son was Issac and that Jews are God's choosen people. I know that the Koran says Ishmael was that son.

So, my question is this, if Ishmael was the "son of promise" (because that's what who we believe Issac was), then why did God send so many prophets to Israel and only one to Arabia?

Does he want us to give and give to Him with no hope of his giving anything back to us? Does He want us to follow a set of rules?
Does He want us to love Him and seek to know and understand Him?

What's your opinion?

The Dali Lama is one of the worlds greatest champions of Peace and Love. However, he does not accept Jesus as his savior and does not follow the teaches of the Bible.

Therefore if you follow the bible and the teachings of Jesus, you must believe that a man like the Dali Lama is going to burn in hell for eternity, and he is someone that needs to be "Saved".

This does not seem right to me. What about you?

And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH '?
"So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?"
He said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.
(Matthew 19:4-8)

Considering some "sexist" thing you might read about in Deu.,such as the punishment for rape and the procedure for marrying a captive woman, do you think they were "sexist" or just allowances because men's hearts were hard?

How many people agree with me?
I live in Iran and I'm a Muslem.Girls are the most complete creatures. They're intelligent, good-hearted, beautiful like angles, wise, hard-working, polite, kind, sensitive, much more clever then boys, always successful whereever they go and whatever they do, they look at the world with an open-mind unlike men and the list could go on and on.I've chatted to so many Americans and found that American Women/Girls are angles unlike men.So I can generalize it.About the divorce: In Iran, 90% of the times women are the winners.Even if she's the guilty one the court will accuse the husband and will make him to pay her too much money untill he's poor. That's why I'm so afraid of getting married.
I wish I were a girl.At least in Iran, all rights are reserved for them.they're always the winner: in study, getting into the best universities, at work, they do their jobs very well, all men love them (contarary to common belief, Iran is made for girls).Maybe 30 years ago men were the rulers of Iran, but now everything has changed. What can I say to describe girls better?Lucky them

I am referring mostly to the fights between shiites and sunnis. I think the Sunnis who are followers of prophet muhammed (saw) are more violent in terms of their fights against shittes.
As far as I know our prophet did not like violence among muslims to brew nor did he like violence against even non muslims.....
I don't know what has happened to our brothers who seem to be just like animals who kill each other. It's a shame on the rest of the peace loving muslims of this world. Can anyone explain me whether this is a phenomenon from the days of our prophet or has it begun recently? Did prophet muhammed inflict violence on the shiite muslims? pls any enlightened person out there?

I have been reading about Mother Teresa and a number of people quote her on only caring to convert the dying to the Catholic faith. I also read that she recieved a number of donations and did not spend them to help the poor as people once thought. I think she is a fraud and people should be recognized for who they really are.
