First, God is ageless. There was never a time HE did not exist.
Next, if the Bible was written 2,000 years after Jesus, then it was written only a few years ago.
Johannes Gutenberg "printed" the first Bible in 1456 using movable type on a printing press. I ask...who could he have done this if the Bible was not written until 2,000 years after Christ?
Actually, Jesus talked about and confirmed what we now know Moses wrote. (Actually GOD wrote it through Moses and other people) Jesus also confirmed that much of what Issiah, Ezekiel and David wrote. They had the Psalms and essentially the Old Testament in the time of Christ. Later Peter confirmed what Paul had written .
The last of the Bible that was written was The Revelations which was written around AD 95
Still it is not so much when the Bible was written...but what are you going to do with the greatest story ever told...the price Jesus paid for your sin? Read the link below

Moses was dead long before Jesus was born. He wrote the book of Genesis about 1440 years before Jesus was born.
Jesus has been dead less than 2000 years. The old Testament was written before Jesus was born. The new Testament was written less than 70 years after Jesus' death some within 30 years of His death. The reason Christian don't believe life came from a non-living cell is because the Bible said God created Adam and Eve, and every living thing. They was to fill the earth and subdue it. When they sinned they gave that authority to Satan. and that is why Jesus had to come and defeat satan.
For anyone to believe in evolution they would have to throw the entire bible out. If God didn't create Adam and Eve they could not have sinned so there would have been no reason for Jesus to be crucified. I hope this helps I have just condensed thousands of years into a short space. God Bless

Why do you belive in evolution?
I believe that that the hypothesis of evolution is nothing more than a religious belief. Proponents of the theory of evolution would do well to admit that they believe in evolution, but they do not know that it happened the way they teach. They should call evolution their "faith" or "religion," and stop including it in books of science.
If you are convinced that evolution is an indisputable fact, may I suggest that you offer empirical or historical evidence against the general theory of evolution. This might include the following:
The earth is not billions of years old (thus destroying the possibility of evolution having happened as it is being taught).
No animal has ever been observed changing into any fundamentally different kind of animal.
No one has ever observed life spontaneously arising from nonliving matter.
Matter cannot make itself out of nothing.
The Bible was not written 2,000 years after Jesus. That assumption doesn't even make sense -- the Bible was written six years ago? Do some research into history.
EDIT: Moses lived and died hundreds of years before Jesus. You're an idiot.

The Old Testament was written BEFORE Jesus. The remainder of the books in the Bible were written between 8 and 65 years after Jesus. So you're WAY off in your calculations.
The earth wasn't created 6000 years ago. Its much older than that. As for Moses writings, they were between 1513 and 1473. You need to remember that years go from high (1513) to low (1473) all the way down until Christ was born...then they start going up and end at the present year of 2006.

1. Some people who believe in God believe in evolution. It is now the thought of some Christians that everything before Abraham is meant to be read as myth. Like Aesops fables.
Edit: Please read about the works of Tielhard De Chardin, a jesuit priest:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Teilhard_de_Chardin
2. The bible is a collection of books some of which were written before Christ. But maybe you should be criticizing why the new testament accounts were only written several years (about 100 I believe?) after his death. The answer would be that the early Christians thought that the end of the world would be coming soon and didn't see the point. When they realized that the world isn't ending yet, only then did they decide to write.
Edit: C'mon Christians, you know this is true.

The books of the bible has been written before, during and after Jesus' life on earth. He himself knew the scriptures as he quoted them (Isaiah to be one.) Which were called the Hebrew scriptures (for others the old testament).
His ministry was written in Greek, the septuagint (for others the New testament).
It has been compiled into a single book that we now know as the Bible not 2000 years after either...but earlier.
Every building has a builder, a sculpture has a sculptor, pottery has a potter, would not creation have a creator?

First of all Moses was long dead before Jesus was born. (Jesus was born about 2000 years ago.)
The people in the New Testament had the Old Testament and "The Law of Moses", found in the Old Testament. Rabbis etc. were using the books in the Old Testament as primary source of judgment. Secondly, if the Bible was written 2000 years after Jesus we would only have had it for 6 years or less.
I think you need to check your sources.

Wow,are you confused?Or,have you been having a bit much Xmas spirit.
Hope its one or the other!Sorry I could not resist!
I think I know what you are attempting to ask!
People are entitled to believe in whatever they choose.
There are some who choose to believe (very incorrectly)that evolution of earth, its animals, and its people only commenced 6000 years ago. While a visit to a museum will show a child that primates were on the earth 25 million years ago.The hominoid skull exibited is from a living, thinking, being, who lived over a million years ago,etc
According to some civilization only truly began after the story of Noah and his Ark.Man was made and woman created from a bit of his skin and a rib in the Garden of Eden, and so on.
It is strange, that colleges of religious training of Anglican clergy used Breasted's book Ancient Times.A Civilization of the Near East.way back in 1916.But chose to preach a different story.
This book tells, that the area surrounding the Mediteranean was totally populated by hunter gatherers, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO.At the same time Australia and Tasmamania also had a viable hunter gatherer society.
Remember, this is a text book used to teach trainee priests and clergy. The copy I have belonged to my great grandfather who ended up a Bishop and would only chuckle to himself when I questioned him about the facts of evolution, and other things I found hard to take as literal truth in the Bible. At least he did not sprout scripture at me I believe he was far above that base level.
I do think its over time due for a new guide book for beliefs, that explains the Bible in its correct historical context not out dated literal blind faith. But I don't think it has been written yet.
I choose not to believe in the God of the bible. My God is formed from my personal experience and beliefs. The bible was written(Old Testament)proberly around 2000to1300 years before the birth of Jesus. The New Testament around 30 to 100 years after his death.
Nobody can put exact accuracy on these dates, only assume or work from historical references made in the books.

The similar logic why people don't believe in God. Because they find it more reasonable to believe in whatever they believe.
The Bible is not written 2000 years after Jesus. In fact, it was not written at all. The Bible consists of two parts, the Old Testaments, which are collection of sciptures written down by Judaism believers before Jesus came, and the New Testaments, which are collection of letters and testimonies by Jesus' deciples and early days followers.
If you were asking why was the Bible compiled few hundreds (400?) years after Jesus? Due to politics, or that was the time it took for the early christians succeeded to have the Romans empire to accept Jesus and his teachings.
By the way, you cannot drink with your mouth closed. If you want to learn, open your heart. I deduce from your use of lower case (assuming that was not due to your laziness of holding down shift keys) that you are not open to accept any answers from Christians.

Firstly, the bible (New Testament) was written at various times within a few hundred years after Jesus, not 2000. Secondly, it is convenient to believe in god, because it answers many questions which otherwise would require thought, and thought -- real thought -- is a process which is not easy to do even if you know how, and most people don't. (I am writing a book which I hope may help to fix this.) As for evolution, it is now a proven fact -- notwithstanding previous incorrect responses.
