If you have experienced one or more OOBs could you briefly describe the experience and how it was achieved. If this is something you do repeatedly, what in your opinion is the best way to achieve this state? Also, do you discuss your experiences with family and/or friends? If not, why not? Thanks.

Marriage is an religious ceremony instituted by God, right? So even a court wedding is still, in a sense, a "religious" ceremony in it's root. Why would they want to participate in a practice that inherently glorifies God. Is this more proof of atheistic hypocrisy?

For anyone familiar with this event, do you think that watching horror or violent movies late at night can have an effect on how often this happens? My mom is retired and stays up late watching TV (though she usually falls asleep with the TV on). As of late, she has been telling me she's has had the weirdest feelings. She was dreaming that she was sitting there on the couch and that my dad was next to her, and my wife and I in the room all watching a movie (RV, actually...pretty funny movie!) This was all true, but she fell asleep and it made its way into her dreamstate. In her dream she started asking a question but no one answered her. No one had even heard her. Then she saw our cat jump up on the couch and sit next to my dad. As she went to pet it, the cat jumped down off the couch. Then she woke up and asked why we didn't answer her. We told her she didn't say anything...she was asleep. She asked about the cat and we told her the cat wasn't even in the room. She says...

If Noah carried two of every animal on the ark, and there is no such thing as evolution, then why is it several hundred species are discovered every year? Given the fact that there are over 7 million different types of species, don't you think the ark would have been a little crowded?

Hey there! I'm an English language teacher and I'm preparing a lesson on usage of everyday English. If you've got a minute, could you please think of some very typical situations where you use social language ("do you have a...", "I'm sorry", "excuse me!", "that's OK", "Can I...", "don't worry" etc.) in everyday life? Thanks! :)) I would like to give these situations to the students and let them decide how to respond. Thank you! :))

Do you believe his teachings were moral? Where, at the time he was supposed to have lived, there was massive intolerance of things, such as sexual immorality, (stoning people to death for committing such), promoted through the God that was worshipped, he taught people to look into themselves for their own wrong doings.

Lets just agree, for sake of argument, Jesus was just a man, not a God, not a son of God, were his general teachings good moral practices?

I am not working at a point to prove Jesus was a Christ, just curious to see how he himself is viewed by atheists.

when it's all said and done...how many dollars
do you think you will have shelled out for
Christmas this year. Be honest. Lets see what
people really spend. I plan to spend $800 on gifts
for others and about $500 on gifts for me and my
small family. Also about another $200 for wrapping,
and extra food and last minute decorations and such.
leaving a total bill for me.. of... $1500. Thats
probably not alot for some people..but it is for me!

Does your god demand you act this way? Do you feel the need to threaten violence and rapture and even death to all disenters to sate his ever-growing thirst for blood?

All religions allegedly preach peace and love, but then a non-delusional skeptic reads your books, and it's violence and lust for power and authority. And, this one begot that one and so on.

Just wondering why, in the many years of holy book study, some of the first responses to anyone saying "I am an Atheist." elicits rage in some of you peace-loving yahoos.

Welcome to the 2006 Holiday Edition of Getting to Know Your Friends! Enjoy!! Everyone has time for a few moments of fun! Don't be a scrooge!!!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? I hate the taste of Egg Nog, so I would have to say Hot Chocolate.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I like both, it depends on the type of ornaments you are using for the tree, and the type of decorations you are using for the house.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Yes, usually every year… but it rarely gets “noticed”.

5. When do you put your decorations up? A week or two before Christmas, but one year we left the Christmas lights on the house until the following Christmas.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? My family does things a little differently on Christmas, instead of Turkey and Mashed Potatoes we go Mexican, so I would have to say my Mom’s layered Enchiladas.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: When I got my dog Pepper, she was in a big box that I got to open, and my parents kept getting mad because Christmas night I kept sneaking out of bed and laying on the floor with her.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? When everyone started asking me what I wanted for Christmas.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, always pajamas… I wear them to bed, and everywhere I go to open presents, then I go home and get changed for dinner (sometimes).

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? My family usually just puts on the usual colored lights, cute ornaments (Hallmark… my Grandma started collecting them for me when I was just a baby), and of course the Star or Angel.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I love it, when I don’t have to be in it forever! I love snowboarding, so nice weekend trips to where it snows are great!

12. Can you ice skate? I have only Ice Skated a couple times.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Probably the Pearl Jewelry set that my Grandpa gave me one year… I’ll cherish it forever!

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Definitely the Family and Loved ones!

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Wow, where to start…Probably Pumpkin Pie, but how can you expect a person to just choose one favorite dessert?

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Just the whole atmosphere of the season.

17. What tops your tree? Either a Star or an Angel, we have both and we choose from year to year.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? I love giving gifts and watching how excited the person gets when they open them.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Jingle Bell Rock… you got to love Home Alone!

20. Candy Canes! yuck or yummy? Yummy, if you don’t like peppermint you can find all sorts of different flavors.

21. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story… I watch 24 hrs. Of A Christmas Story every year of TBS… “YOU’LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!”

....a time in your life when it might have become a choice? I am not asking here about "gayness" in general but specifically about YOUR "gayness."

I apologize if I have phrased this question wrong in any way. Please understand this question is not homophobic, just homocurious. I am not out to challenge anyone's belief.
