If the government legalised certain drugs, such as XTC, LSD, Cannabis and cocaine, allowed companies to professionally produce and distribute pure forms of the sunstances (i.e. minus the more dangerous substitutes and additional poisons) and sold them if the same fashion as cigarettes and alcohol. I grew up a pretty rough life to be just 19 (20 in feb.) and grew up in a rough part of town in Atlanta. And although i dont have a criminal record or anything (thank god) i have come to the conclusion that most of the people ive known in my life who were kool, realistic, straight to the point, and didnt take sh*t from anyone are now dead or in jail. my friend nicknamed Boo died right outside our apartment building back in 1999. Nick used to smile and play with the kids all the time until he was also shot in our aparment complet and killed. Sir (thats his real name) killed a man and is in prison. And now im in New Orleans, where my friend laurence has just went to jail (again) for probationo violation. he was an independent parent raising two kids on his own. the police planted drugs on him. He should be out soon though.

How do people become christians? I dont mean how does someone who agrees with christianity become one, I mean what mental process does a person go through to come to accept a christian worldveiw when previously they didn't?
To me the christian worldveiw is at best absurd and at worst frightening that anyone could beleive it - but people disagree with me - I can understand how someone who grew up with that worldveiw can continue with it - but I am really finding it hard to understand why an outsider would take it up and I wanted someone to explain - preferably from personal experience - but anything would be nice.
I looked into it a bit but only found shallow stories that seemed to me to be people who were christian in all but name (probably from their cultural background) becoming christian - nothing where someone seemed to go from feeling content with their understanding of the world but then realising christianity despite outwardly appearing absurd was in fact true.

Jesus was a great man, whenever I read about him it gives me goosebumps. But he was not a blonde haired person as depicted in pictures. What was the conspiracy behind portraying him as a blonde haired, light skin, blued eyed person. Is it to make more europeans accept christianity becuase fundamentally europeans wouldn't have listened to even God if he was dark skinned.

OK...so I will be officially moved out this weekend. Ty for the opinions. Me & my 2 kids will be living alone & braving the world. I am thinking that it would be a wise idea to go ahead & put the tree up so that they will not notice all that is happening.(the seperation & divorce) But, as I mentioned before..there is the other guy that I fell in love with through all this madness with my crappy hubby. What for christmas for him & his 15 year old daughter, 11 & 8 year old sons? Should I do Thanksgiving with them....Or just Christmas? How do I do this & remain gracefull? How do I divide the time with the ex? He keeps begging me to work it out...all I want is a divorce. UGH!!! I need your help big time....? I just want to get on with my life & regain my identity. BTW...the other guy is not a rebound....I have been in a 7 year non-relationship marriage with all the trimmings...physical & verbal abuse, cheating, porn, no attention for me or the kids....etc....PLZ HELP!

But shouldn’t those who fear and reverence God meet this Heaven-daring assumption as Christ met the solicitation of the wily foe? “Thou salt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” – Luke 4:8. God has never given a hint in his word that he has appointed any man to be the head of the church. The doctrine of papal supremacy is directly opposed the teachings of the Scriptures. The pope can have no power over Christ’s church except by usurpation.

So why don’t Catholics worship ONLY God, this is a very serious matter, please note my references:
Ex:34:14: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Isa:43:11: I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Isa:45:6: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me.I am the LORD, and there is none else.
