Technically, Christians shouldn't be fighting anyone... we should always be striving to be "Christ-like" and therefore should be "turning the other cheek" when someone wrongs us.
Now, realistically, we are human beings and there is a bit of the evolutionary survival of the fittest attitude in all of us... so if someone tries to physically cause harm to us, our instincts are to prevent it by either deflecting the physical abuse or fighting back to render the other person disabled and therefore unable to harm us. While I do not advocate violence, I don't believe in standing by while you or someone else is abused.
As a Christian the only thing you should be asking yourself is "what would Jesus do?" You will always have your answer and then it is up to you as to whether or not you want to act on it.

Matthew 10:34Â "Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. 35Â For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law." - this was Jesus speaking. He's not saying we should fight - but it's obvious that Christians and non-Christians are going to have different views, as well as Christians who follow the bible vs. Christians who follow a religious leader.

He came to earth to save mankind. The Bible calls Christians to If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men. Christians fighting Christians is a sure sign of immaturity and lack of wisdom.

No he came to earth to save us all. He didnt and does not want us to fight each other but to Love our neighbors as ourselves. Christians fighting christians is wrong and not living life the way Christ meant us to live. We should all pray for those Christians that they get the love of Christ in them so that differences dont send them to hell.

All Jesus wants for you or me is to abide in his word and let his word abide in us.
