I've recently moved to France but my language skills are progressing at a depressingly slow speed. At home I've tried lessons, books, CDs, TV and I am still taking classes here but the vocab never sticks for more than 10 minutes. I'm afraid my French to the French must sounds like Borat's English to us. As my confidence diminishes so does the amount of French I'm prepared to speak for fear of getting it wrong. Has anyone got any hints which worked for them?

If you had an unnatural experience where you sensed something paranormal or the existence of a soul departed, would that help you think that God existed in a more knowledgeable sense? What is it to exactly know anything here on earth in our human state? I always thought senses were what we used. So if someone you have met has experienced, has sensed afterlife and they tell you that they have, do they know it or would you call them a liar?

Someone posted on another question regarding the differing versions of the Bible: " I have a King James, a NIV, a Amplified, and a Giddeon. I read all three. They all say the exact same thing."

Im curious - what it the need for owning (or, for that matter, writing, reading or even publishing) four different Bibles - if they all "say the exact same thing?"

I suspect this person is terribly mislead, or should be forgiven for misleading others, as she has already deluded herself greatly... (name withheld so that I am NOT insulting any participants...so please dont flag me just because my question upsets you...)

What do you think?? And, exactly how many versions of the Bible are out there?? And which one is the "truth" - because they cant ALL be.....

Here is what we believe about god these words are from the quran:
say:"He is Allah the one".
"The self sufficient master whom all creatures need."
"he begets not, nor was he begotten"
"and there is none co-equal or comparable unto him"
Quran 112:1-4

is that really hard to understand?.This is the basis of our belief and unless you understand this you cant really understand Islam.
Remember islam is perfect but not all muslims practice it properly.
Why do people keep trying to find faults with islam when its such
a beautiful, faultless religion?.

I am 20 years old and performing the act with another girl who is 19. We'd really like it to be funny but not so much that we die of fright up there. It will be in a restaurant- no stage.

I am working on a report about "Slang" words and the current words that are used by teens that weren't when I was a teen (I'm only 23, so I'm not that old-LOL), but that's what the assignment says...

So, what are currently the most popular slang words that are used??? What does the word mean? Thanks!

This question is for all you anti-gay marriage or anti-gay rights people. Think hard about this one. You might just realize something about yourself.

I compose music but often struggle with lyrics. What do you poets and lyricists do for inspiration to write? Do you first decide on a theme or title and build around it?

All serious suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

(Frankly: I respect people who wear it by choice. BUT I really would not want to wear one. I wear my veil when I go out of my house and infront of strangers and that is enough for me. I think that is descent enough for me. I think if the religion does not require it why make more trouble for yourself. I am a business woman, an engineer and in my experience a Burka would not cut it in the real world. I THINK ISLAM is easy and people make it difficult) What is your opinion?

I want a good quality one that is waterproof and can be worn for shooting and fishing trips in all sorts of weathers. I am in the UK so an online shop is probably my best bet but i cant find one that has the type of hat i want. I dont want to spend to much really but that all depends on what i get for my money.

Hey, wait a minute, who are you to assume I wouldn't have stood up for Jesus, helped him carry the cross and died with him? How do you know I would've just sat back and been afraid? How do you know I would've bit the first apple Adam and Eve took?

Maybe I would've done whats right and stood up for Jesus, maybe I would've been less of a chicken s.hit than his apostles and helped him? Why am I being punished and assumed I'm a bad person that is guilty of sin and evil?

I'm not perfect, but truly do care about other people and try to make the right decision. I don't hold much ill contempt for others and try to understand their angle of perception before condemning them because they think differently than myself.

I mean, how can I be blamed for questioning God and Jesus if I wasnt' even alive to see him or meet him. Why should I be convinced a man-translated book has all the answers? Wouldn't Jesus and God want me to be suspicious of works not done by them for certain?

You must pick someone from a race or country DIFFERENT than your own and for one night. No one else would know, unless you choose. Also tell us why.

Marriage is nothing more, nothing less than a legal entity created through the purchase of a license. It has nothing to do with religion. All the church does is sanctify the union and no one is telling a church they have to do that for a gay couple if they don't want to. It's a legal issue, not a religious one.

Please don't be offended, but I don't understand this. I though it was believed that god is god and Christ is a holy spirit.

I am a Atheist, but recently have begun to question this...and I am looking deeper into different religions.
