I want a good quality one that is waterproof and can be worn for shooting and fishing trips in all sorts of weathers. I am in the UK so an online shop is probably my best bet but i cant find one that has the type of hat i want. I dont want to spend to much really but that all depends on what i get for my money.

You probably are best buying from the states. How about looking at Ebay shops ??

The better the felt (like 10X, 20X, etc.) the better the hat, but it doesn't come cheap. I don't think felt hats are waterproof. A lot of cowboys have an old hat they wear if there's a chance it will get dirty or rained on and a good one for dress up. If you don't mind wearing a straw hat, a palm leaf is very good for weather. You can even soak them and reshape them if they get out of shape. The only thing I have against a palm leaf is that some can be hot when it is warm outside. For some places to try, just type in "western apparel" in any search engine. Good luck!

There are so many place to go but I will tell you this one area that I was just in and you can do or go where ever you want and they have great prices. Go in e-bay and look up Justin cowboy boots and there they will have everything on that page. The type of hat you are looking for shouldn't be to much but there are so many out there.

I got mine from Dobbies garden center its waterproof but a tan colour they do different colours through to a really dark brown dont remember seeing black though. It cost me about £30
could also try horse shows, town and country type shows

try your local farmers shop or market failing that the local saddlers/tack shop may be able to help you. get a copy of shooting times/ angling times or horse and hound for country style shops/markets. i got mine at the badminton horse trials.
