This is friday I need to cheer up!

Hi. I'm not an english native speaker.

I have seen many times that nouns that end in "f" such as "scarf", "wolf", "dwarf" in their singular form become "scarves", "wolves" and "dwarves" in plural form.

However, in the past months I read the entire series of "chronicles of Narnia" - in english of course - by C.S. Lewis. I saw a few weird things for me...

C.S. Lewis uses the word "dwarf" and the word "hoof" quite ... A LOT. Moreover, he writes the plural form "dwarfs" and "hoofs" instead of the "dwarves" and "hooves" I was used to see.

My question, then, is: Are both ways of plural form correct? Or what is the rule?

Thank you in advance.

P.S.: I would appreciate if you point and correct my grammar, vocabulary use or any other mistake that you find in my english writting...

Have you ever realised how boring and uninteresting most people become when they do don't believe in something paranormal or supernatural or magical?
I have yet to find a single, engaging person who doesn't believe in anything.
My friends all believe in something weird, or at least have a genuine interest in it.
(Any insults will, as always, only amuse me.)

An article in Tricycle, a Buddhist magazine said enlightenment can be reached through lucid dreaming but it was very confusing to me. How can you deliberately dream when your consciousness is aware? Has anyone out there done this--lucid dreaming?

Wal-Mart and Macy's have decided to have employees say "Merry Christmas" rather than "Happy Holidays", and go back to basically being all about Christmas. Oh, and they think it helps to have employees wish customers "Happy Kwanzaa" or "Feliz Navidad" based on how they look, which I'm sure will end well in every case.

Hi. I'm not an english native speaker.

I know that "good riddance" is a way to say "bye bye", but I'm not sure of what is its exact meaning.

Does it mean "see you later"? (a way to say bye, but meaning "we'll meet again)

or

Does it mean "farewell? (meaning: I don't expect we meet again)

Thank you in advance.
