I'm always amused when I hear someone say that atheist should repent or they will burn in hell for all....etc etc. How could it possibly be frightening to an atheist to be told that they will spend eternity suffering in a place that there is no evidence for the existence of? It's like telling an adult that they had better pay tribute to the Chupacabras or they will be utterly destroyed by it. Not frightening at all

I am very successful (or should I say sex-cessful!) with the ladies. The problem is, I get so much attention, that it is distracting me from my hobby of collecting Jar Jar Binks collectables. My collection has barely grown at all in the past few months. Jar Jar has been a huge part of my life, and I owe him a lot. I enjoy wearing a Jar Jar costume and walking around town. I go into shops and mess up the stuff on the shelves, I dance in traffic to calm down angry commuters, and I run up to people and yell nonsense in their face. I get on a public bus and sit on other people! Its a great thing to do for the community. I feel I am being selfish by letting all the pretty ladies distract me from doing my good works and spreading Jar Jar awareness. What would you do? There are only so many hours in a day.

I was walking in the hallway and someone pushed me and acted like I was the jerk. Upperclassmen are so mean to freshman. (not all of them). then one girl said she hated me (I think one of her friends were across the hall or something) But it makes me feel bad. I can't be rude back i feel so bad. Question is why do people act this way?

Ok so last year my friend angela read my diary, and admitted to it. then this year, i had a very private entry that she knew about. it was on a solitary piece of paper. she said she had to go to the bathroom, and something made me look beside me. the entry was gone! i knocked on the door and asked if she'd seen it but she didn't seem to hear me. when she came out she played innocent (maybe she is...?) and helped me look for it. i went into the bathroom to look, and she seemed kind of nervous. then she said she had to go to the bathroom again. she put the vent on, but i thought i heard paper rustling in there. and she never puts that vent on? coincidence?
then she went to get her book from downstairs, and i found the entry in the bathroom. how did it get there?
there was a wet mark on it.
i confronted her and before i even finished the question she denied it.
she said that he dog had probably carried it into the bathroom, hence the wet mark.
i was kind of doubtful, but let it go

Why are we sometimes attacked for our beliefs? Not like beat up, but verbally? In our religion, gay marriage is wrong. And if we say it, somebody starts to get upset. Some people tend to think that we are mean people, and that we think everyone is going to hell. My family is really nice and don't judge people like that.

due to strong evidence of something?

I am having to reasses reincarnation and see where it fits in with my beliefs , due to many cases I have studied at university

does anyone feel that it is wrong to be flexible in our beliefs when new evidence transpires ?
or do you feel that due to faith in something that any evidence should be dismissed because it goes against what you believe to be true ?
