Usually nothing. HA! Many young people want to do it themselves, or as we say "their way." This is great, and this is how we learn...BUT...many older poeple have already been through what the younger person is experiencing, and even if they haven't they may have some insight that the younger person is overlooking. For example, when a young person falls in love, they sometimes think that this will be the only love they'll ever experience in their lifetime. They can't imagine life without the other person. Then they break-up. And their world ends for a week or two or more...until they bouce back, or kill themselves, which is, of course, not a solution. All along, an older person has probably told the younger person not to get so involved. Another example could be interviewing for a school or a job. Many older people have been through this before, and can offer valuable information. Or maybe it's a simple as making a merengue pie. If you whip your eggs in a copper bowl, they peak faster and fluffier than in a glass or plastic bowl. That's what you can learn from older people.

well I think that when we are teenagers we try things and find out they are wrong but when we get older we learn from the mistake that we made when we were youth. Like I learn alots of things now that I didn't know when I was a teenager 20 something years ago. I believe when you are in the teenager years you are maturing into either woman hood or manhood and thiis is called adults. But some teenagers never grow up but that just my opinions.

You can learn history,of your family & country. What strange things they saw through out their yrs. You might very well find it interesting & fun. Course they might very well learn a good many things from you too. Neat way for older people to keep in touch with the world as you know it. This is what my grandchildren do for me. Never get tired of listening to them & swapping stories. This street runs both ways.

Wisdom. The elderly in our society have already been through the situations you are facing and are going to face. They have learned a lot from both the good decisions and the bad decisions they have made in their lives. If you will listen they can help you to not make the bad ones.

What an assho_e coryj is, although I'd like to meet her / it. I'm not so old that I don't remember "adults" telling me that the older we get, the faster time goes. I didn't believe 'em then. Too bad now I do. Youth is truly wasted on the young. Young, take heed. Enough of me now. To sleepy to be coherent. Good night and God Bless.

The good points are that you don't have total control of your life yet, but you still have some control. You don't have to make your own money. Your parents still provide everything for you.

The bad points are that you are heavily influenced by almost everything. Your parents are constantly on your back about your future. You feel like you don't have any freedom sometimes.

Many things. One of them is to try not to make the same mistakes that the older people made.

you will get classify into a group like thugs, stuck up, ghetto, you stuff like that. a good thing is that unlike back in the days we are able to express ourselves with being ashamed to do so. but sometimes you do get looked down on because people think that your on drugs or having sex with everyone.
