people are rude because they are miserable with they're own life and feel the need to inflict themselves on normally happy individuals in an effort to make them as miserable as they are.

People hate freshmen. They didnt hate me becuase i was a foot taller than most of the peopel in the school lol (5 foot 8 1/2 inches since 14)
when i wasnt a freshmen tho, i made a point not to hate on them, i did fidn soem freshmen had an attitude like they should be getting more respect, when the upper classmen thought they should be getting to know them and socialize if they wanted to becoem part of the comunity. and that kind of pissed them off.

That's how they were treated as freshmen also...they are continuing the cycle :(
I'm a senior but if I bump into someone then I apologize whether its a student or faculty member.
Also, I think allot of upperclassmen just do not like freshmen because they think they are rude and immature....its a shame that they don't realize they are the ones being immature.

I guess it's human nature to act that way. When people don't feel that they have to held accountable for their actions they behave differently. In your situation, what could possibly happen to them ? Their peers will think that he or she is cool, but only for so long. Don,t approach this with anger even though it's frustrating, just understand this flaw in human behavior and one by one introduce yourself to them in a kind but apologetic way so that maybe the next time they run into you, your not just another jerky underclassmen. Wait until you start driving!

People are rude aren't they? My girlfriend just cancelled lunch with me 5 minutes before she was supposed to meet me to go out with her boss, did I mention it is my 21st birthday? I think some people just have no feeling for others. I will be sad with you, normally I act like a hard cunnnt but I still get hurt especially by the only person in the world I love. So sad but slowly starting to fill with rage, it is more comforting.

Small children who are not corrected when they are small and allowed to run wild, become rude, unsocial larger people. I won't say adults, some of them never make adult, even when they're 50. Manners and kindness need to be taught, starting at age 2 or 3, and from then on. Lack of training is why they act that way.

it happens to everyone; some freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are nasty too, dont just prejudge one large class because of what some idiot did to you im sure that person has no friends (maybe insecure...)
so they decided to try to take it out on you, i dont understand though, these people must have no lives, i never sat around once this year thinking about how much i hated freshmen and were going to plot like this crazy person probably did and try to ruin someone elses life

Upper classmen have been doing that for years. Yes, it's rude. But you are taking it too personally. Try not to. Just remember how if felt to have it done to you, so that you won't do it to others when you are upper classmen.

It all boils down to an insecurity on their part. Try not to take it personally. People can be poopy. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.
