ok so its october 30th and i'm inside at dinner time with my family
theres a knock at the door with a derranged looking couple (man with a huge beard and woman with a lazy eye) and kids asking for sweets for halloween! i said no as we didn't have any (though i thought it was rude to do it when they pleased) and the bearded man shot me a realy dirty look when i tried to be all polite and that!

I am A Catholic. I have always thought of myself as one that believed in God, tried to live a good life. But with the death of my wife's Mom who was Hindu I guess the question has come to mind.

Two things:

1) Why does God play hide and seek? Why are we required to "Believe In Him" and just not simply promise to be obedient?

Where am I going? Why not simply show yourself?
Is God a creation that has been used to control the masses?

2) I as a Catholic married to a Hindu woman am faced with the question of religion quite often.

As catholics we are taught to believe that if we dont believe in our god and that Jesus was the savior of humanity and will come again to judge the living and the dead...

THAT WE WILL BE ETERNALLY DAMNED.

Question: With 6 Billion People Now in the World and Only 1 Billion (? Not sure on the Number) Christians are we to believe that God would damn at least 5 Billion of us to hell after creating us in his own image?

On a more personal level, my mother in law was a rare person in that she NEVER, NOT EVEN ONCE had a bad word to say about anyone, lived her life simply (1 BR Flat in The Bronx), Always had a smile for all. Had 300 People at her funeral of all races.

She was Hindu- Should I believe that she is now on her way to hell because she didnt believe as I do?

Help! Answers Folks! Criticisms???

Why do a lot of you give Gays and lesbians such a hard time? some of you act as though if you keep behaving negativly towards them that they will somehow stop being Gay.

I'm not Gay, but I don't feel I have to put someone down just because they have a different sexual preference. Some of you guys should really knock it off.

What's with calling some lsebians "Bulldyke?" Is this your way of trying to dehumanize them by giving them that name?

Doesn't Unconditional Love mean NO conditions? That means no conditions for salvation, for 'getting to heaven', nothing. No CONDITIONS such as believing and accepting Jesus, or believing in God, or doing good. If God loves unconditionally but there are conditions for making it to heaven, then his love is separate from salvation? Therefore, not only does it have conditions for its expression, it's conditionally bounded in its scope? Then, by definition, it wouldn't be UNCONDITIONAL, right? I'm at a total loss here -- am I missing the point of the basic meaning of Unconditional? I'm serious, I want to know.
