I think people abuse homosexuals because they do not understand them. They see them as alien or dirty. The truth is that there are bad apples in most or all baskets and gay people are no worse or better than heterosexuals. I'm not gay but know people who are, and they are great. There is also the religious thing that homosexuality is wrong but it is open to interpretation and in the end only God will decide. I would prefer people to vent their displeasure and anger over the really important issues in this life, such as poverty, war and sexual abuse of children.

I agree it is sad that more people aren't accepting. I am not a lesbian but I have friends who are and they are normal just like everyone else. I get pissed if I see or hear someone being negative to anyone regardless of race, sexual preference or whatever. I think everyone just needs to be kind to others.

ROCK ON MAN!!! I think people are just afraid of what they don't understand. I would love to see how a big opposer of SS - Marriage would react if a close friend or family member was homosexual! My 'big brother' is gay and he and his partner are planning on having a marriage ceremony in Sept. I have never been so excited!!! Rock on Man,
Peace , LOVE, Happiness

I find that the people that insult gays the most are usually closeted themselves. And I don't think that someone can "stop" being gay. I've known people that actually took their kids to counseling so they "stop being gay", as if that's possible. Puhlease.

For some reason people love to have someone to look down on. It might be gays or Blacks or Native Americans or Asians or Mexicans or whatever.

it doesnt bother me either way infact i swing either way. Its all about how a person was raised. I have a daughter and i teach her to love all ways of life no matter how different they are because you cant help who you love. Have you ever noticed that lesbians dont have many problems living in a community as men do?

I think that a lot of guys aren't secure in their masculinity, so they give gays a hard time to prove to themselves and their friends that they are really that macho, macho guy that they want to be known as.

Ironically, it can be kind of the same thing as one black person calling another black person the "N" word. When it's one of our "own", it just doesn't seem to come with quite the same connotation as it might have coming from someone "outside" our circle.
