The Setting of the Sun

One of the questions which puzzled the ancient Arabs was, "Where did the sun go when night time came?" The Qur'an gave them Allah's answer.

He [i.e. Zul-qarnain] followed, until he reached the setting of the sun. He found it set in a spring of murky water.
(Surah XVIII ( Kahf) vs. 85-86)

We agree with Muslim scholars that Zul-qarnain refers to Alexander the Great (see Yusuf Ali's appendix on this subject in his translation of the Qur'an). According to this surah, Alexander the Great traveled west until he found out what happened to the sun. It went down into and under the murky waters of a pond. When it was completely covered by the water, darkness fell upon the earth.

i saw some pictures in my teacher's classroom ... they look all 3D and everthing ... like they didnt just cut some triangular hole for the eyes and a mouth with teeth ... like they pretty much sculptured the pumpkin ... and yes, they did have holes but only in the places that needed them, but they looked legit. like there was this one of that wizard guy from lord of the rings (gandolf?) ... it was really nicely sculpted .... if you could give me a sight, i would appreciate it. we're having this competion at my work ... it's gonna be tight.

1.It is a collection of stories form several thousand years ago.
2.It has been heavily edited by the Church and some gospels have been thrown out.
3.For more than a thousand years until the invention of movable type, it was translated into various languages and hand copied.
4.It was written by men.

That is the end of the FACTS. That’s all we can prove with the evidence we have available.
Since the same can be said of numerous other text, many of a religious nature, what else can be inferred other than they make interesting reading, but offer absolutely no evidence that they are the word of God.
The only real reason anyone believes that the Bible is the word of God is because they have been told that by their religious leaders.

this morning before breakfast i was just sitting and enjoying my coffee when i got a knock at the door.
it was two j.w.'s and when i told them (politely i might add)
i was not interested and tried to close the door one of them put his foot in the door. (lucky for him i am a morning person)

What is the old wives tale about the cheeks.

Okay i have several questions. Does was Mexico given it's name because majority of it's residence are mestizo? Would you prefer your wife did or did not wear hijab? i know this may seem silly to many of you, but i have actually met a number of Muslims (western Muslims) that would prefer that would prefer their wife did not wear hijab so as to adapt to the culture. I'm from New Orleans, Louisana, and I have no idea what my ethnicity is. I'm a Heinz 57, basically I'm creole. I'm mixed with every possible race. I'm tan with green eyes and really curvy. My mom said that I'm mixed with African, French,and American Indian. Some ppl in my family consider themselves black others dont. Is there some kind of test I can take? I would love to know how much percent of each race I have, just so I can decide on my own. My mom considers herself black...but she looks white. My dad considers himself other but he looks middle eastern. I would love to know what I am. If I say that I'm African American I feel as if I'm denying my native american or white ancestry. I feel as if I can't claim one without denying the other. I'm applying for college this year and they give special scholarships for certain minorities as in black or native american and I don't know if I should even apply!!! Can you give me some advice or some websites or something....thanks!!!
