Don't be intimidated by this please, read till the end. I think its because we are all born with a sin nature and we all do bad things, no one has to teach us. Remember Eve, she wanted to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because it appealed to her to be like a god, (read Genesis 3:5). So we don't like to hear that we are sinners because we think highly of ourselves. It is a natural reaction toward Christians, because we believe the Bible that says "...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Don't be surprised that people persecute us, 2 Timothy 3:12 says, "Yea all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution". The Bible also says in Matthew 5:11-12a, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you(which means say mean things) and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake(God's)". "Rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven". Hang in there I'm with you too. God Bless

You perceive Christianity gets all the bitterness because you are Christian. I think if you start counting, you will find that by far, Islam is the most attacked religion - by far. Christianity would come in second though. Also, let's look at this another way, if I were to relate that during the inquisition, priests used to take a cylindrical container with several rats in it, then place it against the bare stomach of a person who doubted his belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord, then they would heat the cylinder until the desparate rats, not perceiving any other way out, would burrow into the heretic's stomach to escape the heat. That, ma'am, is not an attack on Christianity, but a mere reporting of historical fact.

I guess that comes in part from Marxism. Marx said in 1875 that religion is like an opium. That's where the idea comes from, because Christianity is the main religion in Europe, so in this case "religion" has been interpreted by socialists as synonymous with "Christianity", but not other religions, especially those practiced outside Europe.

Christianity is the fastest growing religion in the world, especially in Asia/China...You can only criticize something or someone who is known to others.

If Christianity wasn't so popular, it wouldn't be so criticized. You cannot make fun of or criticize something without any form of identity and hasn't some depth of understanding throughout any society.

So, let whomever criticizes and enjoy the view!

Now, I dont think we should be picking on any religion. Sometimes people are juat that way. I don't know how they think, maybe because in their hearts they know it's true, they just hate the fact that they are wrong.

I know that the things I must endure from fellow classmates are just a test of faith. I will never stop believing and I will never stop praying for the lost.

As an atheist American, I currently have the most issues with certain Christians because they are the ones most attempting to alter our government to their narrow worldview. Fundamental and Evangelical Christians attempt on a daily basis to force my lifestyle and belief system (through their influence on the government and legislation) to bend to theirs.

don't fret sister. these are the days and times as Christ told us they would happen. we know where it comes from.
it's kind of like driving down the road, u r minding your p's @ Q's everyone else is racing to the red light, 'gating you, doing the 1 finger thing and by the time we catch up the light turns green. they know what they r doing is wrong but u can't stop them, all u can do is warn them... and god will give u the green. in Christ we will remain, but they choose to abstain, and on them will be the burden of pain.

I think it is because Christians have a duty to evangelize. In doing so, they forget to still show love and respect, ie saying 'turn or burn.' Well, this way doesn't sit well with others, and Christians are turned into hypocrites, and intolerable.
