Would you prefer your wife did or did not wear hijab? i know this may seem silly to many of you, but i have actually met a number of Muslims (western Muslims) that would prefer that would prefer their wife did not wear hijab so as to adapt to the culture. Please explain why it is important you that your wife does or does not cover.

I'm not muslim, but if I were I'd want her to totally cover up so no other man may "covet" her.
I can see their point.
My personal beliefs are that if I marry a girl I see only her face and hands and maybe a little more. Everything else I don't see till after marriage. I don't marry her breasts, I marry HER!
That may sound strange, but it's even MORE strange for a guy to say, "you're perfect in every way, except for your breasts (or your butt or your pubic), hence I will not marry you for you are not CUTE there.
That is sick
You marry a girl because you like HER not her breasts!
You accept her BREASTS as they are, because they are a part of her.
Does that make sense?!

as salaamu alaik.my wife and six daughters all wear hijab.i feel so strongly about it i probably would leave if she didn't.that's the truth.it is important for many reasons.most important is because that's how the prophet[as] interpreted the verse. and you cant get any better explanation than that.in a society that degrades women and treats them as objects it is necessary to show them the respectable way a women should dress. so that they will be known as such and not molested.and who can inform you like the one who is all aware?when you say western Muslims your usually talking about Muslims in name only.and according to Allah they are not Muslim at all.any man who does not want his wife to cover is either ignorant of his religion or does not practice it.bet he doesnt mind if she doesnt pray either.and by the way wearing the hijab does not make one muslim.submitting to the commandment does.

Yes , why ? without why . who prefer their wife did not wear hijab ? some one has short sighted and do not like her because hijab save her from many bad looks , also when I see veiled woman I feel she is strong , decent , precious and beautiful . I hope ever Muslims women wear veil . God bless u .

I am a married man and it was never an issue for me, since she always insist on wearing the hijab when going outside. She do not cover her face, btw, I also do not like covering face.

i prefer it wearing hijab,bec allah said they must also bec i love my wife to be like diamond ,not to be touched by others,,not every one make lust of her even by vision
