I think perhaps Catholics understand the importance of the feminine divine (in regards to Mary) and farmers the worship of Mother Nature :)

Catholics know the secrets of the Universe. All those things that others say are evil or lies. The Catholics know because they are the ones who removed that knowledge from the Bible.
Farmers on the other hand, work the fields. They plant by the moon, and harvest by the moon. So the pantheist beliefs are not really foreign to them, it doesn't offend them. To tell a farmer that life comes from Earth, is just repeating something they have known all their life.
Strange but true...
Blessed Be... ; )

As a Pagan, I've been far better accepted by Mormons than by Catholics, and have seemingly made Mormons much more comfortable than I've ever seen Catholics around me.

I honestly haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Because many Protestants are against the Catholic Church and call her the "Whore of Babylon" and the Pope "The Antichrist".

That sort of nonsense doesn't exactly lead to comfort.

...dunno about farmers though.

maybe because Catholics worship a triune diety and most pagans do the same, so it is easier for them to understand.

Catholicism is more about ritual than it is about heartfelt belief.

...no insight on farmers.
