i saw some pictures in my teacher's classroom ... they look all 3D and everthing ... like they didnt just cut some triangular hole for the eyes and a mouth with teeth ... like they pretty much sculptured the pumpkin ... and yes, they did have holes but only in the places that needed them, but they looked legit. like there was this one of that wizard guy from lord of the rings (gandolf?) ... it was really nicely sculpted .... if you could give me a sight, i would appreciate it. we're having this competion at my work ... it's gonna be tight.

search yahoo for pumpkin patterns.I did a Jesus pumpkin that took 6 hours this year, it had shadowing that you do that requires only peeling half the peel etc.Tips.Get some good tools.
