My son has has a friend who is says he is Budduist and Christian. He was raised a buddist, but was baptised into the Christian faith as well. It just kinda threw me for loop. Talk about a melting pot. I said whichever you practice is your religion. But it left me a little confused. Does one have to choose between the two?

So do political leaders: they make me wonder if they ever really read the bible.

Luke 18:9 But he spoke this illustration also to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and who considered the rest as nothing. 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 the Pharisee stood and began to pray these things to himself. “O God I thank you I am not as the rest of men, extortionist, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
12. I fast twice a week, I give the tenth of all things I acquire. 13. But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward but kept beating his breast saying, “O God be gracious to me a sinner. 14. I tell you this man went down to his home proved more righteous than that man because everyone that exalts himself will be humiliated, but he that humbles himself will be exalted.
He really felt that way, it was a prayer!

Since Mormons believe in continuing revelation, what happened to polygamists when the church banned polygamy in the 1890’s? Also, what does the church have to say about the souls of former polygamists? Were they grandfathered into Heaven under the old laws or were they knocked down a level, from “celestial” to “terrestrial?”

If you are going out and knocking doors (For whaterever religious reason or political reason) and at one house hear a child tell you to come in, do you just walk on in? Or do you wait for an adult to answer the door?

Mainly liberal politicians who favor Pro Choice abortion & gay/lesbian marriage rights & support the ACLU (who defended the right of The Man Boy Love Association to exist, a club for men who like to have sex with little boys).
Do you, Christians, feel that God will shun our nation and remove his blessing on a nation that embraces sin, fights for the rights for sinners to have their way?
Are political leaders so far gone to the left that they have lost ALL of their morals?
Married households are the MINORITY now!
When will America wake up?
Do any other Christians feel this way?

This is just an example because I want to understand Christianity a little better. I'm not Christian, and don't try to convert me please. I believe in The Matrix concept a little modified though. Anyways, let's say someone was about to kill someone and your only option to stop them was to kill them. You're in a church, and there's a dude about to stab a priest. You're a cop and you have a gun. You kill the guy trying to stab the other guy. Is it a sin? I think it is because thou shalt not kill and blah de blah...But should you ask for forgiveness if you did it for a good reason?

Do you think some people can tap into another dimension that the rest of us don't see? Or is it total BS? I tend to belive there is anoter dimension but why do some have the "privilge" of seeing this and others do not? Anyone out there with experience with seeing another dimension, (while not on drugsz)?

Should I say

"The photos are a good way to prove his innocence"

or

"The photos is a good way to..."?

Because, as it's known, "a good way" is singular; and the verb can agree with it too, right?

Tnx,

Hi, I am genuine about this question so please do not get enraged, I'm genuinely interested and I think most other westerners will be, too.

Is it true- as I have recently been told- that all Muslim men sit down whilst urinating?...i.e., that the "standing up" posture is not as universal as we in the west would imagine?

And- if THAT's true, what is the background to this? I've heard it said that this is to do with a prophesy. Can anyone elaborate, please?

Once again I am not trying to offend, I am interested in cultural diversity hence the question.

Give me any reason to like them...they always complain that we hate them, but nobody has ever mentioned any nice thing about them....any tolerance, any positive attitude towards others. Unless I hear something like that I'll regard them as I do today : angry people, easily violent, intolerant, no humour, no respect for others.

Is talking about your religion to someone forcing religion? Is trying to convince someone of the validity or necessity of your religion considered force? Are there any instances of people forcing religion on this site? If so where?

Are we so protected and insolated in this country that we think we are being forced to do something if we are merely exposed to it? Are laws that ban anyone anywhere from praying a type of force? Are laws preventing prayer an example of forced atheism? Who do you think is more forced when it comes to religion in the U.S. today? Theists or Atheists?
