If you are going out and knocking doors (For whaterever religious reason or political reason) and at one house hear a child tell you to come in, do you just walk on in? Or do you wait for an adult to answer the door?

If you're a responsible adult, you wait for another adult to come to the door.

However, if you're a responsible adult, you make sure your child knows to never invite a stranger in the house, much less open a door for one.

I would open the door to see if I could see anything then ask the child to get an adult before I actually went in. You would not know if the parent or adult would have been drunk and passed out or sick or murdered or something like that and you wouldn't want to leave a child in that predicament, so better to be safe about it all the way around.

When the Mormons came to my house, it was a really cold day and I had my young kids in the house. I didn't want to go outside and leave them, I didn't want to leave the door open, so I invited them in. They told me that they were not able to come into the house while my husband wasn't home.

A stranger's door? I did go on a religous mission, and yeah, we would wait for adults, not to mention being girls, we would wait for a female adult to be home to come in (for our own safety).

best wishes.

Wait for an adult, of course.

I don't think I'd walk in, I think that I would rather wait for someone to open the door...

I'd hope they'd wait for a grown up. The JW's came to my door and my daughter asked who it is and they said, "Please go and get your mommy." I don't believe in their doctrine, but at least these two that came to my door had common sense.

I wait for the adult. To do anything else is irresponsible.
