The most vivid hallucinations I ever had were during a weekend of sleep deprivation during an entirely drug-free Native American derived ritual. Where this reality actually resides is in question. But I was certainly aware of it, and there were no drugs involved at all beyond smoke and steam inhalation in a sweat lodge.
The thing that galls the scientists is that they can't prove such a thing happens or doesn't happen. They're working on it, but I imagine a paradigm shift is in order before such realms are open to scrutiny by those who would codify them.

Well I 2 believe there is another( or more) paralle universes, but
I also believe that we are all born with the ability to " tap " into certain abilities and/or worlds as children but once we reach a certain age( 7yrs. old) we then become jaded like our family an therefore can not " SEE " as others do because we are taught that somethings are not ment for the naked eye/and or ear, nose, touch, and taste.
I don't know where your from or what religion you were taught as a child an what you believe now but it sounds like your on a journey, searching for knowledge an i say 2 u...." KEEP SEARCHING " an as for the " privilge " i dont think its a privilge when you see things other dont because then you get 1 of 2 things......1) no one believes you, thinks your crazy, or is totally on drugz 2) you may not want it once you get it( i didn't!!!)
And by that i mean i use to see things in my sleep b4 they even happen or have already happened an once i called myself " WARNING " a sex partner/homie of mines that i dreament he got shot an what the shooter looked like an where it happened............well guess what?
I happened 1 month to the day in front of my building under my bedroom window by a kid who knew 2 of my brothers who lived in my cousins building in our projects!!!! is that creapy or what?
and needless to say i dont revel my seight any more to no body no matter what i may see!!!
I hope i've answered your question? hit me at dejha9772000 here on yahoo im if you want an tell me where your from. take care.

There are actually several other dimensions that remain unseen to the majority of people, for they are blinded by earthly logic. Everyone has the potential to visit these other realms, but the fact that it takes time to develop the potential is a turnoff to most people. I've seen a few of the other dimensions, and what I've seen is beautiful, but indescribable.

short answer:
yes. in fact there are many.
and yes.
why do some have this awareness and some do not? there are various reasons, to keep it short and minimize pointless yammering, its an individual thing thats hard to give a general answer.
if you have more questions about it, or would like to know more, feel free to mail me.
edit: actually I have personal experience on the topic that is far beyond what would reasonably, or appropriately be discussed here.

Yes I do believe in alternate reality. Many people are aware of it. I discovered an alternate way of defining the world around you but to be honest I was on drugs.

It's not a "privilege" but it's there.
I am Not on drugs.
I know what you are talking about though because sometimes I see stuff out of the corner of my eyes when I'm not looking.
Of course science can explain all this just as they explain away dreams.
I am not Christian or religious but I am very spiritual.
IMO there are all sorts of things we can't see because we are trying too hard to see them.

To begin a metaphysical or paranormal investigation with a good dose of skepticism will open many and varied ideas. To always have imperical proof of the senses is not possible. This is the place where science and quantum leaps diverge.

Yes. There is another dimension and that is the spiritual world, which is beyond the capacity of our present material senses and mind to perceive.
There is a process for purification of consciousness through which one can become eligible to perceive and enter into this reality of eternity, knowledge and bliss. This is process is called self-realization. You can experience it yourself by seriously applying to this process.

There is no such thing as alternate reality; only thing is that if someone climbes on a tree he will know who is coming first than those who are on ground.

It's BS.
And people like RW up there will lie and tell you that there is, and then ask you to email them.
Wanna bet there is something he wants to sell you?
Don't be duped.
