Should I say

"The photos are a good way to prove his innocence"

or

"The photos is a good way to..."?

Because, as it's known, "a good way" is singular; and the verb can agree with it too, right?

Tnx,

Ie - b r a z i l

The subject of the sentence is "the photos" which is plural. The subject almost always determines the form of the verb.

But if you changed the order of the sentence it could be "is."

A good way to prove his innocence IS the photos.

This is right since now "a good way" is the subject.
