I was discussing this the other day, and thought I'd post it here: Basically, back during the time of the American revolution, when American patriots (particularly those who were Christians amongst this group) resisted British rule and commited various acts of rebellion such as, say, when they stole and dumped tea into Boston harbor; although they were resisting unfair taxation from Britian at the time, all the same, were they not sinning by breaking the law?

I see the greater good of liberty that came out of resistance, but all the same, these patriots were breaking the law, and the law, it could be argued, was still God-ordained, and these people were not honoring God by obeying the laws of the government, right?

I'm not knocking America or being unpatriotic, by the way. I love this country and I'm fascinated by its history. I'm posting this simply for the sake of discussion. I'm just curious how the actions of the original patriots could be construed from a Christian standpoint

God is one of many gods. Science gives real results. How can you settle on this one supernatural explanation? How do you defend your choice (and dismiss all the others)?

Lately I have noticed an abundance of questions directed at the subject of theism. Also, many seem to be confused, thinking that theism is Deism, plain and simple. Since I am Deist, it has disturbed me that so many think they are simply one and the same. Deism is included under the term, but they are not mutually exclusive. The definition of Theism also includes organized religions of Christianity, Jews, etc.

Sorry, I know it's not a question, but comments are of course expected. I just thought it might be useful to point out the correct definition of theism and so have supplied the Wikipedia link. It is much too long to post here. Again, sorry this isn't a question for the purists in this forum :).

Personally I think that Italian men like whatever, depends on the person. But I really am getting tired of this topic. I also think that it's kind of a belief black women have maipulated to blow up their egos and bc they are so arrogant.. My boyfriend is mostly Spanish and looks italian, and likes all types of girls, but always seems to get hit on by black girls. It pisses me off bc they assume that he wants them, that they are his dream bc he looks italian, when actually he said that the thing he was attracted to most about me was my "paleness". He has a thing for pale-skinned girls, but they seem to be so confident and assume he wants their type! Besides, Italian men in the movies are always with wasps--their wives are always blonde, when not Italian! Italian men also have a thing for Asian women, and Hispanic women, not just Black women.

I am challenging you because people believe that libs can't be Christians. Technically, they are usually right but here is your chance to prove you know the truth. Liberalism is a mental disorder yes, but cureable as well! Do you know how to cure it?

Would the population slow down dramatically or come to a halt? Wouldn't heterosexuals be out of the norm or would they be socially acceptable? Is it better to live in a diversified world or should we feel great after learning how to get over prejudices in undiversified communities?

I love Willie Nelson but get real, if any unknown were to be stopped for 1 1/2 pounds of pot we would be arrested for trafficing or something. Wonder why they didn't think he was going to sell it. Maybe he's behind on his taxes again. And mushrooms to boot..illegal mushrooms. He received a ticket for these offenses. WOW it must be good to be famous

let me rephrase that, if it was found to be a fact that jesus never walked the earth then what do you feel you would be left with?, would you lose your faith or would you still consider yourself a christian? Are you familair with the movie "the god who wasnt there"? on what basis do you believe that jesus was a man that once walked the earth? can you prove that he did? or do you believe that jesus was god in man form but not a man at all really?
