I love Willie Nelson but get real, if any unknown were to be stopped for 1 1/2 pounds of pot we would be arrested for trafficing or something. Wonder why they didn't think he was going to sell it. Maybe he's behind on his taxes again. And mushrooms to boot..illegal mushrooms. He received a ticket for these offenses. WOW it must be good to be famous

Willie cant go to the local dealer and pick up an oz. like most folks. I guess he was just stocking up for the road. Everyone knows Willie is a toker, He even talks about it openly during interviews. I say, if he can get away with it, Leave him be!. He's been through enough B.S. with the government already. And look at what he does for America's farmers and ranchers. He gives much more than he recieves credit for!!.

I don't know what state he was busted in, but they all have differing laws on the issue. Some states actually do just give you a ticket up to a certain amount, but a pound and a half is trafficking territory anywhere I would think. Mushrooms are a sticky point, they may have been psybicilin (sp) but they may not be specifically covered under the state he was busted in. Sure, fame helps lol. I don't necessarily think he was going to sell it. Many potheads buy large quantities to get a deal and put it up for themselves, quite a few of them in fact. How do I know this? LOL don't ask don't tell.

Same thing happend to Snoop Dee Oh Double Gee. Slap on the wrist. But come on! Willie Nelson is practically the poster boy for THC. Hypocrisy is the very basis of which this "proud" nation was built upon.

Yes if you were busted with that amount of drugs you would be arrested my brother in law is a cop so.....usually they arrest you if they find any amount but 1/2 lb is possesion with intent to sell.

He's a 70-something year old man. If he wants to smoke a joint sometimes, so what?
They should have left him alone, and the incident shouldn't have even made the news.

i've seen a guy get only a 500 dollar fine for carrying around a pound of weed..
they let him get away with the fine cause it was "shake" weed..
but here in canada we aren't as crazy about our marijuna laws

I hate the double standards that surround our society!
Its just so bogus, when do we average people get to mae our own rules and make everyone else suffer cause they arent "average' enough to apply?
