Survival in this world is not what the bible is about. The bible is about mans relationship with God and eternal life in him. Actually a bible thumping skill is not necessary for any purpose because no cares how much you know till they know how much you care. ; -)

Knowledge always gives the individual that has it the best credntials to survive..whether it is in their work/play/philsophies the knowledge of God is always going to be a further expansion because we get knowledge from are creator and he teaches us truths from ignorance ...u dont have to carry or thump a Bible ..Jesus is always near to help you with the toughest things ..just like he helped me anser this question..I couldnt imagine getting through life without him near..its alot easier than believing in nothing..

I've used my Bible to squash mosquitoes and to chase away the occasional Jehovah's Witness. Since mosquitoes can carry West Nile virus, arguably it is a survival tool to thump one's Bible.

i think studying the bible and trying to live as jesus did is important for all to get along in this world , i wonder if people like u ever really read the bible and truly understand it if u did,god chose me years ago , he loves me , and wants me ,i have something GOOD to belive in and i am happy

no, the skill to survive in to days world is the ability to debate with out prejudice and listen to others opinions.. not something we do well esp on YA's
