God is one of many gods. Science gives real results. How can you settle on this one supernatural explanation? How do you defend your choice (and dismiss all the others)?

Christians have an old and long-revered book. In it is says such things as "You shall have no other gods before me" and "I the Lord your God am a jealous God". If our God says he is the top and final authority, then for us to say he isn't is to say we aren't following Him. It comes with the territory.

If I were short and red-headed, then I was adopted or illegitimately born because none of my ancestry was short or red-headed. It comes with the territory.

Suppose the others had their supernatural experiences, no problem. Our tradition has ours and we stick to ours. You think some other way is true and ours is false? Go that way. I find this one true and that is the way I must go. If you feel like confessing "Allah is great and Muhammad is his prophet", then that is your confession. Mine, in a similar vein, is "The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is great, and Jesus is His prophet."

I dismiss all others because the Christ, the promised one, said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." If I deny Him his claims, then I am not His. It comes with the territory.

“God enters by a private door into every individual.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is the same with love, for at its heart, it is a private affair. I may have my reasons why I love who I love. I can give those reasons, but they are my reasons. I certainly do not have to defend them. You can hear my reasons and accept or not.

My friend, all religions are faith based, thus it is a choice. Some people grow up in a religion and that is how the choice is made. Others, very few others, make an assessment about God first, and then possibly a religion, and have good reasons for their decision.

CS Lewis's work "Mere Christianity" is the go to classic on the path to decide on the reasons in favor of Christianity. Other than that, it is a choice.

I will say, assuming God exists, many religions all point to the same God (Jewish, all Christian and catholic sects, LDS, Muslims, orthodox, etc.), thus this may be a clue.

well I believe in God very much so and science is just as real as God. Maybe everything did evolve and maybe it did take millions of years.

Point being is this example. Humans created all kinds of things like TV's and such. All the material is here but we took it and made it. It takes time to do so maybe it took a long time to create man.

I don't have the answers to everything but to say there is not God is wrong. Is there scientific proof God does not exist? That's my point. Anything is possible. So why can't God be possible?

As for other "gods". I don't believe in them.

EDIT.

Why? Well because I know they don't exist. How do I know? Instinct.

Because 'capital "G" God' changed my life. What more evidence would I need? I tried a few fakes first, this one actually showed up and continues to. I need no more proof, not do I need to continue searching.

What you're suggesting is like saying that you have to try out all women before deciding which one to marry. I'm pretty sure that's not going to go to well for you. I can't buy this car until I've driven them all. When I've lived in every single house on the planet, then I'll decide which one truly works for me.

Because God is the one, the only, God. Idols are not real. Idols do not care about you and they are not alive. They have never done anything for you. You may be polytheistic but I am monotheistic and that is the way to be.
