I'm a Christian but socially awkward. So fitting in with some Christians at church is kinda hard.

Jesus said over and over that one must give up one's posessions and live collectively. Read the "Acts of the Apostles" in the new Testement. I have never seen anyone living like that except the Isralies that live in the Kubutzs'. People justify their life styles to fit with their view of Christianity, but does that make them real Christians? Doesn't Christian mean: follower of Christ? Do you know any real Christians.

What does one say to Muslim friends to wish them well for the holiday? Happy Ramadan?

They obviously don't believe in any diety, class those who do believe in a diety as stupid, and probably some other beliefs I don't know about.

So what is their purpose for posting anything on a religious board?

This is one of those questions to which "Read the Bible!" is not even remotely appropriate. Either do some research or keep quiet.

If you study your history a little bit, you will see that the New Testament Canon was never an undisputed fact - there is still disagreement between the Vatican and most Protestant denominations about which books should be included as the "Word of God". The first Canon was proposed by Marcion, a Gnostic "heretic" who rejected the Old Testament entirely. The Church responded with it's own hastily constructed Canon as a rebuttal to the Marcionites. The first official Bible was written by Eusebius under consignment from Constantine; much of the content was included for political reasons, not historical accuracy.

Considering that the Bible is the source of all your indisputable facts, do you think it's history is kind of important? Or are you willing to trust a bunch of dead guys who said "This is the Word of God because we say so"?

I've been away from here for a while now doing a bit of research and thinking. I think I finally realised what it was that all you Christians have been talking about. I think i am ready to be saved, to accept Jesus into my life and to turn away from the wiked "secular" path I have been following.

Will you forgive me and accept me into the Chistian family ?

i have noticed of late no one wants to answer my questions must be the christian fanatics on here are starting to get the picture i am here to fight back not play games with you christians you have done more harm than good to this world and your karma is going to catch up to you even if you dont believe in karma it will still happen.

christians believe they can get into heaven even if they repent but thats not how it works you are based on your works not your actions. harming others in anyway is one of the things i hear that god judges people on these days.

My wife and I are free thinkers who both have a firm faith in God and were raised Christian. We are no longer Christians and go to the UU church. We have 5 childerewith ages from 7years to 3.5 months. This year we have decided to not just celebrate Christmas. We only celebrate it in a secular way now and figured why not teach our kids respect and tollerance or other religions and cultures by showing them first hand a little about the holidays they celebrate. Other then the standard American-Christian holidays of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years what holidays do you suggest we include in our holiday season this year and what would be the best way to celebrate the holiday to teach our childeren about the culture it is from in a respectful way. Also if you know how Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are celebrated in different countries or cultures I would love tohear about that as well.

Why do you always ask us Christians not to use the bible or quote scripture when answering your questions? It seems quite ignorant to ask a Christian a biblical question and then expect them not to use the Word of God to defend themselves.

Could this go back to witch trials, further than witch trials,
Are women hated and gossiped about who are single, are left alone, widowed or abandoned by a man, or who get divorced and are left vulnerable?
I know of at least three cases off the top of my head where a woman who was widowed and left alone with five children was detested by her neighbors, another woman who was abused by her spouse, got divorced and was left with two children was gossiped about and hated by neighbors, and another woman who got a divorce was left with two children was gossiped about and persecuted and picked on, no one feeling any sympathy that she had to take care of a house and kids alone.

Is it natural for society to pick on a woman who doesn't have a male to defend her, especially if she's vulnerable with children?

It does bother me that some people get all their food, rent, insurance, education, etc paid for because some people really, really need assistance and cannot get it because somebody w/ 12 babies daddies figured out how to scam the system so they don't have to work. If I was offered assistance, which would never happen because I am way over income, I would not take it. Someone else out there needs it much more badly than I do. I feel the system is abused because how can someone be on Medicaid, get food stamps, be on Welfare and drive a Cadillac? That's not very fair, don't you think?

I was engaged to a woman who had been in a lesbian relationship for three years, prior to me. She told me that it was a temprary thing, that she didn't even consider herself bi-sexual, let alone lesbian anymore. Is it possible for women to experiment with lesbianism for that long and not let it be central to their lifestyle?

In case you did not see it in the news:
CAIRO, Egypt -Osama bin Laden's deputy warned that Persian Gulf countries and Israel would be al-Qaida's next targets, according to a new videotape aired by Arab broadcaster Al-Jazeera on Monday, the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Ayman al-Zawahri accused the governments of Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia of supporting Israel's war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Addressing the West, the al-Qaida No. 2 said: "You should not waste your time in reinforcing your troops in Iraq and Afghanistan because they are doomed to defeat and are already all but defeated."
"Instead, you have to reinforce your troops in two regions. First is the Gulf, where you will be thrown out after you are defeated in Iraq, at which point your economic ruin will be achieved," he said. "The second is Israel, because the jihad reinforcements are getting closer to it."
If you run, we will find you. If you fight, we will defeat you.
Allahu akbar!
