..emotional/not capable of reason to some extent prevails - women are deemed somehow closer to nature and men (through science/reason/logic etc) are able to control this/them..

Yet to me it seems so ludicrous - not only are girls now even out perfoming boys in their traditional stronghold subjects of science/maths etc (exposing the original assumption as tosh) - men have hormones too!

When a woman is in a bad mood she is dismissed as being 'time of month/just her hormones' yet how many times does someone quip when a bloke kicks off 'never mind love it's just your androgens!?

I wonder how much of this particular nonsensical belief is perpetuated because women via pregnancy and childbirth have an enormously priveledged position in humanity - it something amazing that men will never experience and means that the female body is infinately more amazing by comparison!? ;b

On a serious note - this notion does amuse me greatly esp considering the number of thick men I know!

1 Cor 3:18-20 reads:
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."

I have heard these verses quoted as a reason for Christians not to study science, philosophy or other academic pursuits. It has also been quoted as a reason to not use real world managerial techniques and strategies in churches.

A) What are your thoughts on this?

B) Who makes the best spicy chicken sandwich?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Chicken!

with your mean, rude comments of "grow up", "get a life", calling me "silly", telling me to not take it personally; that I'm to sensitve, accusing me of asking for charity when I'm not; when you don't even know what your talking about, asking me if I've ever heard of working crap & saying a bunch of bs that I'm being demanding. Also assuming wrongful things about me, calling me selfish just because I would ask for help in exchange for my concept & my help (and this mean man who said this claiming to know about true Christianity then comments to me "GET A JOB, you pig..." All of you mean, wicked, aweful people are going straight to "h".

For example, my name is Maria Josefa Villaluz Almonte.
Maria Josefa (two first names)
Villaluz (Mother’s maiden name)
Almonte (Surname of father)

Is it correct when companies and legal institutions (INS for Green Card) shorten my name as Maria J. Almonte?
Or should it be Maria V. Almonte because “Villaluz” is my mother’s maiden name, thus should be my middle initial rather than “J” for Josefa which is my second firstname?

Choice 1: Maria J. Almonte
Choice 2: Maria V. Almonte

Which is legally correct? Thank you!

I went to the gas station yesterday to purchase last minute items.
I went to the ATM.
I went into the condiment isle. While I was searching, I noticed a man on the opposite side staring at me. It was'nt a flirting stare, it was a dangerous stare. So I stared at him back as if saying "Can I help you? Is there a problem? " Anyway, we had a staredown for a few seconds and he left. It was a wierd experience.

I don't know what to make of it, because I have done nothing to the man. It was very creepy but it made me angry. I was dressed neatly in work attire, from head to toe, so it could'nt be anything out of order on my part.
He was a complete stranger.
I don't want to be quick to call it racism, because the nieghborhood was mixed. What do you make of it?
