You ask a very good question. One all of us have asked ourselves at one point or another. However, until you are ready to open your mind to other possibilities you will never find favor with the Bible. Just for starters, nothing in the Bible - nothing written in the Bible has ever been disproven. Another fact - every prophecy spoken of in the Bible has, so far, come true. There are more yet to come but the Bibles' record thus far is perfect.

You made a statement before you asked your question so I must say this to your statement - I, for one, do not defend everything I say with the Bible. I don't need to quote you scriptures to make a point. If you pay attention to the Bible then you realize that it is nothing more than a compilation of life events - it shows what happened, who made it happen, who it happened to and what those involved did about it and how they were effected by the outcome. It is, quite simply, an instructional guide on how to live the best life one can live while living here on Earth in human form.

So, if you have a question and want honest, sincere answers without Bible verses, then ask. You can also do the same with Jesus for He does not qoute scriptures either.

I know the Bible isn't 'bullcrap' because I have faith its God's Word. There's times when I doubt God, the Bible, and everything I've learned about him (literally only a couple of seconds every once in a while), and I instantly have to shake those thoughts away. Satan just wants people to doubt the truth, and for them to come to him so he can win, but if people have genuine faith that the Bible and God are real, then they can't go wrong.

And usually whenever I defend something, I try to be understanding to both viewpoints. And occasionally I do use scriptures or examples from the Bible to prove my point, only because the vass rules and stories there are in there that at any point in time relate to someone.

This is a question with which I, too, have been struggling. When it comes down to it, the Bible is just another religious text, such as the Koran, Torah, etc. Each of those books contains several verifiable historical events. Likewise, each of these books (including the Bible) is not verifiable in its religious claims.

The question remains: did God write the Bible? Christians will say, "yes." However, they will also admit that it was a group of men who actually did the physical writing. The answer, unfortunately, is not a solid one. The most popular is that God inspired the men to write the Bible.

This raises another important question: how do we KNOW God inspired the Bible? It was the men who wrote it that CLAIM they were inspired. Were they actually inspired, or just claiming such in an attempt to add credibility to their texts? Every religion claims their sacred texts were inspired by their respective deity(-ies). Which religion are we to believe? Are ANY of them actually divinely inspired?

In the end, you have to read them, decide for yourself whether or not they are believable, then choose the most believable one (or even NONE of them). No one can prove a religious text is right or wrong (heck, "right" and "wrong" is a whole other debate), and any argument for or against the validity of a religious text is, by definition, without logical merit.

It appears foolishness without spiritual discernment and the relationship we enjoy with Him.

If it was just a compilation of 66 books then, maybe, we're a little bent.

But it's His Word. He says it's all that and a bag of chips.
Yes it was written by men. They were inspired by God.

2Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Still not proof. OK. When we say He speaks to us, thats pure bullcrap - until YOU hear Him. Then, I assure you, you'll never be the same and will have no further doubt.

I hope and pray that you'll hear His voice.
It's life changing.

God bless you.

Only a non believer would ask a bullcrap question like that, the word was written, and the word is truth, those without faith obviously would have no understanding of the word, or truth of it.

A question for you: how do you know that the Bible is not what it says it is...the Word of God?

Well, one day, someone you love dearly (child, husband, parents etc) may eventually get sick...maybe seriously (hopefully not). At that point you will say.."god please..help them through this"...then you'll come to the realization that the bible is not crap
