My neighbors are from Afghanistan, and we've always gotten along well. We share carpooling duty, and on of their young sons frequently comes to our home to play games. Today their mom picked everyone up and walked my daughter to our front door with her three-year-old twin boys. After chatting for a moment, I reached down and touseled the hair of one of the twins, and said, "Hi, cutie." As soon as I did, the other twin quickly put his hands up to cover the top of his own head. I laughed, thinking he was just being shy, but then he backed away and started toward home, saying over and over something in their language I couldn't understand. It was then that I remembered they are Muslim, and I think I now recall something about it being bad to touch the top of their heads. Does anyone know for certain about this? His mom brushed it off and chuckled when I said I was sorry, but I'm still wondering.

I don't know what it is, but it seems that teenagers are less responsible, careless and are filled with so much angst. I can say some of it is probably attributed to a lack of good parenting, but really, does anyone else notice this? I realize that not all teens are like this, so I am really trying hard not to generalize.....but what is your opinion of this? Honestly! What differences have you noticed since you were a teen? I was one years ago, and I can honestly say that things are very different. I know that they have more peer pressure and other issues at hand, and I know that times change as well. And I know that through all generations it's a rough period of time to grow up. And I realize I will probably get a lot of slack from teens, but it will only prove my point.

Shouldn't stories as fanciful as these be forced to prove themselves? And, how come a non-believer is more apt to have to explain his/her position and a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, et al. are not?

There is just too much on the line as far as Big Religion is concerned. How come they don't have to explain their views beyond pointing at a Bible and saying, "See, says so right here." ?

Is it fair to say that all religions come from the same heart but are told from other view points? To me it seems like all religions essentially teach the same things. There are flood stories in all religions, creation stories, etc. What do you think?

ok i was just asking Y r the people who r so Happy and dont believe in God .R so bitter. wen some1 asks if u do beleve In God they r not putting it in mean terms they r just asking . u dont have to answer if u r going to be so bitter and rude . y r u rude about something that supposidly doesnt exist i dont kno. but wat i do kno is this world is going to come to a end and wen the rapsure comes the people that didnt believe & were rude about other peoples beliefs r going to be on EArth for 7 more years cuz God is even going tO give u another chance to change,,,,,, im just saying God is lk air u cant see it but u can feel it and wen u accept him in ur heart then u just feel at peace and yes people get mad they cus they scream but even if u r a christian u do that 2 at times, but then u ask 4 forgiveness and sometimes yes u do so it again but we should learn from our mistakes.all i am asking is y be rude??and if its bcuz people wont stop asking,dont answer

It's pathetic, really. I was on a particular website today and just surfing the different posts that people put up; it's obvious that despite all the efforts being done to do away with racial prejudice, some people are still narrowminded and ignorant. I speak Spanish, but one phrase still confuses me..."Te quiero." Two men (an ex-boyfriend and a current love interest) have said this to me and I am completely perplexed as to whether they mean "I like you" or "I love you." there are both good and bad asspects in every faith.
I really beleive that we could take the good from all bifferent beleifs and make them one.
what if there is a god...and a goddess,...what if they were really married...and created the earths and heavens?
