It's pathetic, really. I was on a particular website today and just surfing the different posts that people put up; it's obvious that despite all the efforts being done to do away with racial prejudice, some people are still narrowminded and ignorant. Why is it that some people harbor so much hate within themselves for a particular race? Sometimes within their own race? I'm really interested in people's responses....

When I was a child, my mother explained it to me like this....down in the country, when people would raise baby chicks, the chicks would all gang up on which ever chick was DIFFERENT. As long as we have differences, there will be discrimination and racism...not just between the races...but even within the races. Imagine, there is nothing but Blacks in this country.....who would get picked on? Who ever was different. It might be nappy hair vs straight hair....dark vs light skinned...etc. No matter what, racism will NEVER be gone.

Racists are just bullys who have outgrown school.

Theres nothing you can do about it so dont even bother. As long as the sun shines and the world has eyes that see color, were going to be plagued forever with prejudice. Color does everything its bonds, yet breaks you know? It creates stereotypes on the get go and must people can even help it. If you see a black man hes officially going to listen to rap and you, asians are smart and whites are rich. Thats the way it goes..our eyes tell us what our minds dont want to hear. You probably subconsciencly have seen a chineese man and thought 'hes great at math' or saw a black man dressed in a jersey and thought ' he gangsta he prollie do drive bys'

Keep your head up girl and dont let it bother yu

i honestly believe that although there is alot of racism going on coming from the white ethnic group, towards others such as Hispanics and blacks. That alot of the problem is the fact that the "minority" groups are more racist than anyone. I have noticed in my school, that they are very edgy, anything can be, and usually is taken out of context. Most are very aggressive towards anyone of another race. I'm not sure if this is just in my particular school, or area. but its rather un nerving. My best friend is of another ethnicity than I, and she is the most wonderful person i have ever met. But she doesn't not look at herself as "African American" she looks at her self as a person. We should all have pride of our cultures. but we ALL have to learn to live in equality. that means that some things will just have to be let go. if we always want "compensation" or repayment, no one will even be even. we will constantly be trying to equal the playing field.

regrettably there continues to be numerous racism. right now that's extra helpful hidden by ability of maximum. of course we've our skin heads, KKK, and different white supremacy communities that don't look to love absolutely everyone yet themselves. i might fairly decide to do the kin tree on a number of them, you by no ability understand what went on interior the previous. Now because of the fact of 9/11 many human beings hate any Moslem's, which isn't top. It would not look to ever end. In penitentiary even you have racism, what's that each and one and all approximately? i do no longer understand who it impacts the main yet i understand till all of us decide that we bleed the comparable shade, that all of us can harm and be harm, that it is not important what God if any individuals have self assurance in, and that treating human beings the way you opt to be taken care of is the perfect element we are by no ability going to have peace. I heard a guy say one time he became happy he became blind because of the fact he could no longer tell one nationality from the different except advised. (i do no longer understand how lots of that became actuality on his section) yet i understand he taken care of all human beings he met with admire till they did some thing to make him comprehend they did no longer deserve his admire. i think of we could take a lesson from him.

i think sometimes the media is to blame, they try to make a racial issue out of everything that has to do with different races, its not always so,sometimes people are just plain old mean no matter who they come in contact with, not to say racism doesn't exist,it does, but not every comment or crime is racially motivated

because everyone needs something to hate...a rival if you will. It's not as bad as it was 20 years ago and as the baby boomers pass away it will be come less prevalent . but it will never go away altogether. the way we are hard wired we always find whats different and cast it out as humans...the only way racism disappears is if we get over run by aliens

I don't know why, but it's so sick and unnecessary. Unfortunately, racism has always been around; from the white brittish hating the indians, to hitler's regime. We as humans are so scared of what is different from ourselves, and many times, racism is passed down from what your parents have been hammering into your brains as children. Little by little, we are becoming more aware, but we have a LOT of work to do to get rid of it.

i think most people put others down to feel better about themselfs.. race is notible but it happens in other areas as well... the cool kids make fun of the nerds, people from one town put down people from other towns, religious people put down people with a different religion ect... maybe it makes them feel like they are part of a group i don't know... i am from the south and i hear people say all southernes are racest... that's not only not true but they are doing the same thing judging people based on where someone lives...

Racism will ALWAYS exist.....sure it's not right, but it's there and will always be there. People will have to get over that. By that I mean, stop letting these people bother you, stop letting them get to you, because they are winning if you do. Ignore their existance completely.........don't acknowledge anything they say, act as if they are invisible. They want the attention, they want you to get mad about it......that is what they want. Unfortunately, not everyone gets along, it's life, we have to live with it. The question is, why can't people stop letting it run their lives. Learn to not let it........that's the solution to the problem.

You know, i really don't know the answer, but i do think that it is just like you said, that people are just narrowminded and so full of themselves and their beliefs that they are unable to accept others or let other people change their minds.
