I love Christmas. I love to decorate, to bake, to shop, to send cards. I just love to see the look on my children's faces when we turn on the lights for the first time. I love to watch them sing their little hearts out on Christmas Eve service. Once you have Children, it will all change, I promise.
I lost my mom and dad at a very young age. I couldn't get into the spirit of the holiday's for many years after their death until a friend drug me to a children's hospital for the terminally ill on Christmas Eve/Day. It forever changed my life and renewed my faith. These children all knew they where going to die soon, but they had more love in their little hearts for Jesus than I would have ever thought possible.

Christmas is a very stressful time of year for a lot of people. There is the pressure of getting together with family, buying gifts, having enough money to just get through everything. It's possible you have anxiety issues. It's hard not to when you're bombarded with Christmas tress and Santas well before Halloween. (Remember when you didn't do anything for Christmas until after Thanksgiving?) I worked at Hallmark Goldcrown for two Christmas' the first one was mildly irritating but in July we recieved all the new Christmas orniments. It was horrible! All the commercialism totally burnt me out and by October I was ready to start popping the heads off of the holiday Precious moments. We also had these things called Jingle Buddies that sang Jingle Bells and then a dog barked the melody. It sounds so silly but I just became so numb to all the "holiday cheer." People would wish me a Merry Christmas in October and by the time it really was Christmas I was telling all the customers I was Jewish after they said Merry Christmas.
I guess what I'm saying is try to enjoy what Christmas is really about if you're religious celebrate it that way, if not just cherish spending time around your family and friends. If you're overwhelmed about presents ask your family if you can draw names so you don't have to dig out so much cash for the holidays and same goes with your friends. Maybe even develop a new tradition with someone you're close with so there are other things to focus on besides presents.
And as always it's still kind of fun to be mildly bitter. :D

Christmas does not make me sick, but it is a sad time of the year for me. Sometimes it gets me depressed, if i drill on it. It was near a Christmas when i lost my twin babies. ever since then, it is hard for me at that time of year. I pray and ask God to help me. I want to let the past go, and live for the future. I know Christmas is Jesus birthday. We should be happy, and rejoice for the birth of our Savior. You do not need mental help. Just keep looking up. That's where Blessing comes from. Jesus can bring us through anything.

There is an exceptionally high suicide rate around Christmas. I've been told it's because people are lonely and feel they should be having a good time, but they're not. Personally I get annoyed with Christmas, especially the music, but I like the lights. It's so dark at that time of year.

You are not alone. Not just judging by the post. For some it is a reminder of Loved ones no longer living or of bad experiences. for some it is a matter of the hypocrisy of being all nicey-nicey, goody-good, just this one time of the year. For others it is the extreme materialism of people who focus on what they will receive, while not being thankfull for what they have.
Remember that Scrouge got the visitations not because he was mean during Christmas. It was because he mean all year around 24/7 365 days a year.
Solution:
Keep the Spirit of Christmas in your heart everyday, that will balance you.
For me everyday is Christmas, and every night is New Year's Eve.

The true meaning had been muddled, I feel like that the days leading up from the pressure to buy it ,instead of experiencing it.
A baby lying in a manger is the real gift to us and all you have to remember is that. Sorry for your unhappiness I think you need some counseling that could help to share with someone. Maybe get busy and donate your time to a homeless shelter nothing helps like helping another. Your story might also comfort someone do share it. You started here now go talk with someone you can trust, hugs

It's known that a lot of people get overwhelmed during that time of the year because of all of the stress (ie. gift wrapping, shopping, invitation, parties, tree-chopping, etc.) But if u fainted and are getting physically sick, then this isn't normal. Perhaps u should see a doctor? I hope u feel better. I'm sure there's an underlying reason for this.

Yes, Christmas is a lot of pressure, isn't it? Gotta be happy. Gotta be with family. Gotta enjoy all the horrible holiday TV & even worse commercials.
It's like Xmas ain't an option.
Xmas is for kids. Find a secret santa program and line up some gifts. That always helps me.

Are you experiencing painful memories, or something or someone you miss, around Christmas time, that can possibly have an effect on us, alot of people have these same emotions, when you fainted, it could be stress, or a feeling of being overwhelmed, I advise you to seek the Lord and Pray, because no matter what or how big our problems our, The Lord will always be with us, and we will always have a comforter in The Holy Spirit.
