Why all religions and spirituality seek and offer some kind of eternal existence to individuals in the heaven or in the form of soul or by dissolving in the supreme ?
Are we just bothered about the selfisness of preserving our " self ' to eternity ?

I am in the process of writing the new new testament. I'm making a few changes, scrubbing Jesus and making up some stories about my life. I've got this end chapter called Revulsion in which all those people who previously believed in Christ as the son of God become eternally cast into the pit of burning pigs where they yell in pain for eternity. Nice - eh. I, on the other hand, spend all my days picking those special souls who deserve to live in paradise forever. Such as Gandi, Steven Pinker, John Gray 'LSE', Richard Dawkins, Thom Yorke, Charles Manson, Spinoza and Lucifer.

I've known my friend for 19 years and she hardly says a word. Being a christian, I try my utmost to 'love' her but it's hard work. We met at school and she has always been quiet. Every time I ask her something, it's either 'yes', 'no' or 'I don't know'. If I ask her how work is I get an 'ok' and that's it. If I ask her what time she leaves for work I get 'When I'm ready'. Or if I ask her if she's working this Saturday, I get, 'We'll see'. I'm finding this such a strain and she will never go out with me either. If I ask her out, she'll come up with some excuse. She has no friends but me, but I wouldn't even describe our relationship as a friendship, because it's completely one-sided. I don't know where to go from here. She'll ask me plenty, but won't give anything of herself when I ask her return questions. Any tips please?

I'm from the south, and I was raised in a good Christian household. It seems that I stopped believing in God when I stopped believing in Santa Clause. I'm extremely skeptical, yet I have a horrible fear of death. I feel like I should believe, but I can't make myself. I've tried praying, and appreciating my surroundings, etc. etc., but I've never felt the connection that so many people describe. Am I doomed? Please, no mean answers. This is a serious question.

I thought I was a girl until I started school at age 5. Then she had my hair cut for the first time and I wore boys clothes. Has anyone else been in this situation ? Is that the reason why I crossdress now ?

I can understand why God is called 'God'. It's simply a backward 'dog' which fits very well. But Jesus becomes 'suseJ' or 'suzy jay!' who happens to be an infamous gay queen in my village. Why is Jesus gay?

Since an atheist told me "keep your religion to yourself!", I will ask a question not about religion and sprirituality but about the laws of our society.

Here is the question:
Why is it legal for a mother to kill her unborn child, but if a pregnant mother gets murdered, and the unborn baby dies with her, it is considered by law to be a double murder?

Is consciousness an emergent property born out of the coordination of trillion of synapses? With their capcities growing exponentially, after a threshold is crossed, is there a chance for computers to become conscious of themselves? And one day , if we succeed in transfering the neural electrical activities into microchips, can we free our consciousness from our perishable bodies and embrace eternity? I'm not looking for a yes - or no - answer, but is the line of thought just a freak mind's musings?

A teacher is usually kind of a representative of certain ideas. Even in schools, colleges, universities, etc. students are more likely to study subjects taught by charismatic teachers. In spirituality if a teaching is delivered by teachers who don't really follow their own words and declared concepts, does it mean there's something wrong with the teaching?
