Julie Of The Wolves! The ending SUCKS!
Had to read it in 7th grade. Its about this eskemo girl who ends up having an arranged marriage to a mentally retarded guy, because her father abandonded her- anyways her husband rapes her- she runs away and lives in the alaskan wilderness and ends up living alongside (not really with) these wolves, right, well yea she's out there long enough to watch one of the wolves grow up- it becomes like her best friend. She's searching for her father and when she finds him she finds out he's a total dick, and he's a poacher ta'boot. (Love using that term.) And he kills the wolf that has been her only link to sanity for the past two years.
Book sucked balls. Old saggy ones....
And on that note, a GOOD book Is 'the hyde effect' by steve vance.

Books with miserable endings? Start with' The hunchback of notre Dame' , 'Wuthering Heights' , 'Men are from mars, women are from venus'.
The hunchback well Quasimodo died because he's seen as a freak when in fact he's madly in love with esmeralda, Wuthering heights well Kathy died then she claims Heathcliff! As for 'Men are from mars, women from Venus' because and no matter ... Men still don't understand women and women still don't understand men so that's pretty miserable as well! I'd say these three read one after the other would have reach for happy tablets!!!

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince....man that's some heavy stuff...don't want to give away the ending to anyone who hasn't read it. The movie should be coming out soon.

Mystic River by Dennis LeHane. I was angry when I finished and sorry I had read it all and there wasn't one sympathetic character in that book. I didn't see the movie and don't intend to see it.
