If you had a first edition Gutenberg Bible you could sell it and never work again. It allowed for the proliferation of knowledge. Before then, only a few could afford books. They were made by hand(there was wood burning or stenciling, but it took lots of time). However, there are other great inventions. The wheel is one, but there is no single inventor. Fire is not an invention. I would opt for the microwave. How did we wait for our popcorn to be done in seconds before? Think of one invention that changed the world, and see what the majority ruled upon. Frank Zappa is not the answer.

Why are you either?

On a recent trip to our local mall I happened on a somewhat field trip for a group of severely handicapped (both physically and mentally) people and could not help asking myself what emotional much less financial burden ( for lack of a better term) must this be for the parents of these people of various ages. You would think that with all the technological advances these days in the area reproduction and pregnancy, a doctor should be able , at a very early stage, detect a high probability of retardation or a mental handicap, and would give the parents the option of aborting. Again, it seems cruel , but these people I had seen, I am sure hadnt a clue as to their whereabouts or anything that was going on about them. I am not a believer in abortion, as most times I think it is simply a means of birth control for the irresponsible, but I am not totally ignorant to the cases of rape or health issues for the mother, but I am interested in what you might think.

Do you believe in shapeshifting, that is, the ability to assume the form or characteristics of an animal, either in real-life, in dreams, or in astral-travel form?
If so, do you know any methods to achieve that state and learning that skill?

I do meditation every now and then, and I've managed to astral travel once, but I've got too freaked out and woke up as soon as I managed to start travelling.
My dream, however, is to be able to experience a shapeshifting experience, merging with my "totem animal". The internet is full of testimonies of people that claim they do this regularly... but is it really possible? How to do it?

Darwin recanted on his deathbed. This is completely fabricated and has no foundation in truth whatsoever. A woman named “Lady Hope” spoke to a church group shortly after the death of Charles Darwin. She claimed that she was at Darwin’s bedside on the day of his death. She also claimed that Darwin recanted on evolution and accepted Jesus on his deathbed. Her claims are not only unsupported, but are directly opposed by Darwin’s daughter, Henrietta. Henrietta stated “I was present at his deathbed, Lady Hope was not present during his last illness, or any illness. I believe he never even saw her, but in any case she had no influence over him in any department of thought or belief. My father never recanted any of his scientific views, either then or earlier. I am upset that the U.S. Christians have fabricated this conversion nonsense. The whole story has no foundation whatever.” February 23, 1922.

In the bible old testament. Aaron throws his staff down which turns into a snake and devours the snake/staff of the Egyptian priests. Wouldn't there have to be other gods if there staffs turned vipers also

" Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers , and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things..."

God did tell the Israelites to destroy Jericho, Right?

This city was taken in a very remarkable manner by the Israelites (Josh. 6). God gave it into their hands. The city was "accursed" (Hebrew: herem, "devoted" to Jehovah), and accordingly (Josh. 6:17; compare Lev. 27:28,29; Deut. 13:16) all the inhabitants and all the spoil of the city were to be destroyed, "only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron" were reserved and "put into the treasury of the house of Jehovah" (Josh. 6:24; compare Num. 31:22,23, 50-54).
