I think that it could happen. When you're on the phone you tend to be more revealing because the person isn't in front of you so it takes the edge off what you're telling them. I'm speaking from a female point of view.
On the other hand, a guy may take it as, its easier to lie to you because they don't have to look you in the face.
So it depends on where you "know" this person from.

sure you can share so much by talking, but once you meet it might be another story. For example if one of you two is really nervous not matter how much you know about the other, it can still be hard to overcome and deal with.
