Es un placer means it's a pleasure... But deppending it can mean nice to meet you. Nice to meet you is "encantado de conocerte" or "es un placer conocerte"... But we usually say "es un placer".

Literally it translates as "It's a pleasure",
but in English you would say: "My pleasure!" or "You're welcome!"
