Get the name and ID number and then ask to speak to the Supervisor. I have met very few phone reps that will be the slightest bit civil or helpful until you ask for their boss. It's amazing what such a small threat can do sometimes, that is if they can understand you. Most of the time I ask for their supervisor simply for the fact that they can't even speak English and I don't have time to deal with it.

Definitely ask for their supervisor immediately. The reality is that the majority of prepaid calling card companies have horrible customer service. It really seems like they just don't care. For that matter, most companies outsource their customer service to places in India or other places where labor is cheap.

I think it's more important to shop around and look for a calling card company that has been around a long time and somehow guarantees their cards, rates or minutes.

You can also look for larger prepaid calling card retailers online because many of them have good relationships with their carriers. This allows them to better assist customers in cases where the carrier will not help to your satisfaction.

I've shopped at many calling card websites and have had my share of bad experiences, but I do recall liking SpeedyPin and STi the most. Each was selling cards with fair rates and listed any fees I could expect right on the website.

Here's a trick I learned and recommend you try it before you buy a card online. Call the listed customer service number to see if anybody is there. A legitimate company will have a staff to answer your questions.

Good luck.

**What can I do about these rude calling card customer service reps? **

I hear you,been there,done that too.

Hello, this is so and so. Who is this ?
Get name of rep. first. Write it down and
repeat it back to the rep.Get affirmation.
Now ask for what you want.

If you get disrespect back, call back and repeat
the above. Ask to speak to a supervisor.
Now go ahead and get some service.
Don't forget to mention the name of that crap
giver and have some fun with the situation.
Sometimes it is very soothing to give the deserving grief.
Works good in stores too, sometimes you get extra stuff.
ahahahaha
Ah, and don't forget calm, assured speak is a virtue.

Set up on-line banking ?

Definitely get their name/worker number in a pleasant manner at the beginning of the conversation, that way you have the info you need should you end up needing a supervisor.

I've had many times that I didn't get the name and what started out as a simple request to correct on a bill turned out to be one nasty phone call. Learned my lesson from then on....

Anytime a customer service rep. gives you a hard time immediately ask to speak to their Supervisor, explain the situation you are calling to report, how they were unhelpful and rude and they should take action on your behalf.
