would you spend the rest of your life in prision if you were assured i would spend eternity in heaven. jesus allegedly died for you, would you do that for me. no answers like " jesus died for you too" just answer the question as it was asked. do you make that sacrifice for me as a fellow human being or not.

How on earth did he get from my posted question that I was an Atheist? Was anyone else confused, cause this guy seemed to be really trying to convince me not to be a non-believer.

Just so Todd and everyone else completely understands:

I am a Christian!!!!!!!!!

Sorry bout the rant, but Todd doesnt have e-mail access and since he spent so much time typing his answer, I wanted to make sure he knew it wasn't necessary. I am a believer in Jesus.

Shouldn't we together fight the "terrorists" instead of wasting our energies fighting one another?

I used to want to try it, but recently I have been hearing horror stories, about how it is the most painful thing ever, and I would come to really regret it, which has really scared me... But if it really is so painful as I heard why do I hear some people say they like it? It is really confusing...

We feel like we own enough stuff already (and are packed in a small apartment). Also, a lot of the guests will be 25-30, and don't have a lot of extra income to spend.

Most of us have no desire to share our sexual orientation with the world at large. Most of us have no desire to change or challenge religous beliefs. Society no longer condones stoning or killing as ascribed in certain passages of the Bible. Yet a few passages continue to brandish us as less than any other sinner.

We are only vocal and "out proud" to show the reality that we are regular people that pay taxes, work productively in a wide spectrum of jobs, dress and act like regular men and women.

We only want full equality under the law, to know we cannot be fired simply because someone finds out we are homosexual, to know that we can be with our partners and make medical decisions for the other when necessary, to receive the same insurance coverage as married people, for our children to receive the the same benefits as those of married people, to receive the same tax breaks as married people, to be legally recognized as a couple.

Why is that so difficult to accept?

"God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!" Seriously, is anyone else sick and tired of that saying? If you really think about it, there's no adult way of saying it out loud. You just end up sounding like a five year old in a playground, like, "I know you are, but what am I?" Is anyone else annoyed about how that can be passed as a supposedly valid argument against the morality of homosexuality? Really, I don't think that's a quote from the bible at all.

I keep getting the "Oh, no, no...you don't understand! That was the OT! Read the NT!" responses to my answers. It started to get get overwhelming so I wanted to address this issue.

Please enlighten me: why was God so angry and punitive in the OT? He was angry, spoke of sin of mankind frequently, slavery, sent a flood to kill everyone but Noah's family, and ordered people to die. Then all of a sudden, Jesus dies, and he softens up? Now he's okay with humans?

Is God, at heart, an angry being? I always get the "Oh noes!!!111, that's the OT. Jesus saved you." Why did it take death for God to be more loving? If he is a superior being, shouldn't He have been just as compassionate as His son?

The point is that it was still a part of the history of God. At one point, He just needed some anger management therapy.

Life is built on information, contained in that molecule of heredity, DNA. Natural selection is a logical process that can be observed. However, selection can only operate on the information already contained in genes - it does not produce new information. Without a way to increase information, natural selection will not work as a mechanism for evolution. All point mutations that have been studied on the molecular level turn out to reduce the genetic information and not to increase it. Scientists have found that within the cell, there are thousands of what can be called biochemical machines. All of their parts have to be in place simultaneously or the cell can't function. Biochemist Dr Michael Behe (see The mousetrap man) uses the term 'irreducible complexity' in describing such biochemical 'machines'. It always takes (greater) information to produce information, and ultimately information is the result of intelligence. Code systems require an intelligent origin or inventor. More...

If everyone knew everyone else's thoughts and there were no secrets, what would the world be like? I think that since we had no secrets weighing us down, we could show our true selves without fear.

Liberals espouse world peace, but everyone knows that war victory brings peace, Japanese came to support peace after a bomb or two got dropped on them. WW one and two got peace after bombs destroyed whole cities. No peace in middle east because of a "political correct fought war", peace in middle east is an oximoron when Islamic Terrorist are permited to breath. The answer for Israeli peace is to be disporportionate in their response to terrorist activities and their agression towards the state of Israel, that part of the world only understands agression, not diplomacy or the impotent UN. Temporary peace is no peace. Only a war victory will bring it. So you liberals go change your diaper. Minding our own business does not prevent attacks, it just allows for more.
