Because humans are created in flesh. All flesh must regenerate and no effort to extend that could go on forever. Nothing in this world lasts forever. The only thing that is constant is change.

My young daughter says that we have to die in order to go back to God. What do you think ?
Unfortunately God does not have a telephone number to answer this question definitively. Yes you can read the books and ideas of hundredd of brilliant philosophers. But that remains their personal opinion.
Each one must reflect on the question to find one's own answer. The prayer on everyone's lips should be "God give me the courage to change things that can be changed, the grace to accept what cannot be changed, the wisdon to know the difference".
We cannot avoid death or life so don't spend too much time dwelling on questions which cannot be answered definitively. Go to www.wikipedia.org or www.answers.com and do a search on the words "philosophy" or "religion" or "spirituality" or "faith" and read the myriad views of the great thinkers of the past. Then choose the view that makes the most sense to you.
But please do not try to impose this view on others. (That's why religious oor any conflicts start - the view that I am right and you are wrong).
Personally I think dying is good. Just as all living species are constantly evolving over millions of years the human spirit is also evolving. Imagine what a terrible place this world would be if people like Hitler lived forever. The fact that life is limited allows us to aprreciate it and to be better human beings - if only because the next life depends on how good you have been in this one.

When a baby is born, that baby starts to die. It is called the life cycle.
But death to me is not the end but a brand new beginning. I believe in God, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. BUT, religion is a choice not a demand. I believe that when it is my time for no more life on this earth, things for me do not come to a halt. My body is just a place for me to live while on this earth.
Lots of people may disagree with me but everyone has their own opinion.

Because the body's organs grow old and die. It's like a car....some things can be maintained and replaced but eventually something gives out.

Only our bodies die! We are made up of body soul and spirit.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

The world would be over populated if we didn't. I know I want to die, I don't want to live forever unless I'm going to be young, beautiful, thin and rich, and have a good husband and a good fun life. My life now, I do not want to live forever. I'm ready to go when he calls.

The cycle of life. They have even found a chemical that your body produces that allows you to age because of it. But can you imagine anything with as much "magic" as our minds have ever really dieing. I mean look at the larger picture. I believe in God but even others that don't...this much just can't disappear. Death is nothing to fear it is merely a transformation.

Why do so many people look at death as an end instead of a begining? No one has yet proven the death is finite. Sure our bodies cease to exist. But do our souls, minds. What other doors are there left unexplored or opened.
