I don't like them.
My main problem with them is their deception. It's not that they call themselves jews (though most of them are not jewish at all); it's that they present themselves as a form of judaism, which they clearly are not.
Skullcaps, Stars-of-David, calling their leaders "Rabbis" are all elements of judaism which they have stolen to present themselves as a "jewish" group.
If they just fessed up and called themselves christian (which is a term used for anyone, regardless of ethnicity), that alone would make them much less despicable.

Jews for Jesus are authentic Jews.

I have come across Atheist Jews, Agnostic Jews, even Buddhist Jews -- and other Jewish people have not been offended by them... why be offended then by Jews who believe Yeshua is the Jewish messiah?

The New Testament was written almost entirely by Jews (24 or 25 out of 27 of the NT books were written by Jews). Jesus was a Jew.

Shalom,
John

they unnerve me because they are extremely dishonest.

have you ever heard of a Christian Muslim or a Buddhist Hindu. So how can someone call himself a Jewish Christian?

and if you want to say that it is a race then why play it up so much.

I was handed Christian missionary material when I was in Jerusalem and I have to say I loved the fact that they downplayed the concept that Jesus is the son of G-d while focusing on the Messiah part.

I also find it interesting that you do not have groups like Buddhists for Jesus or Hindus for Jesus but only Jews for Jesus.

Sounds to me like they are compensating for something

Yup...my neighbor is one...she used to be pushy and tried to "convert" my family all the time but my mother had a strict talk with her and she stoped, other than that shes a wonderfull women. I know the whole movement is annoying because everyone in it except perhaps a token few aren't actually jews by any definition of the word..so I dont fathom how they can be JEWS for Jesus...

You have to differentiate between "ethnic" Jews who have abandoned their faith but cling to their ethnicity and other Jews who are both ethnic and religious Jews. Judaism allows you to be an atheist and still call yourself Jewish but rejects you if you worship another God. Therefore Jews for Jesus are formerly Jewish Christians who cling to their ethnicity. When they call themselves Jews they are using a different definition than the one used by Jews for Judaism or even atheistic Jews.

They aren't Jews. As a matter of fact, the group we have here in the Tampa area is mostly Hispanics for some reason.

The Seal of The Messianic Church

EVIDENCE THAT THE EARLIEST CHURCH IN EXISTANCE WAS JEWISH

One of the strongest evidences for this is the presence of many artifacts, clay pots, and lamps, which are engraved with what has come to be called the SEAL OF THE MESSIANIC CHURCH.

The seal has been copyrighted as " Seven Branched Candelabra/Star of David/Fish"

A book entitled "The Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church" by Reuven Efraim Schmalz and Raymond Robert Fischer has been published (Olim Publications, P.O. Box 2111,Tiberias, Israel.

Top of Seal see the Seven Branch Candelabra that stood before God in the Temple.

Below that, see the Star of David, which is from the 7th century BC. It is composed of two interlaced, equilateral triangles or DALTHA (D for David). "A star shall come forth from Jacob, and a scepter shall rise from Israel" Numbers 24:17.

Below the star is a fish which is an early Christian symbol in Israel. It was transported to Rome, and by 150 AD. Clement of Alexandria suggested to all his readers that they include the sign of a fish in their personal seals to identify them as Christians. Later the Greek spelling for the word fish ICHTHUS was incorporated. The first five letters of the words that spell "Jesus, Christ, God, Son, and Saviour."

In the Messianic Seal, the cross appears as the Hebrew letter TAW.

The artifacts were discovered in 1990 by Tech Oteeoos, a 90 year old Greek Orthodox monk, in the vicinity of the, what is believed to be, the original Church founded and pastored by James the Just, the half-brother of Jesus. When the actual grotto was excavated by Oteeoos, numerous inscriptions were found on the walls. The period of its use on Mount Zion could only have been from the crucifixion in 30 AD to 135AD.
