I find it odd that people use air in their analogy in trying to prove the existence of God. They say things like you can’t see the air that you breathe but you know it is there. Is it me or don’t they know about the other senses that we as humans possess, you can’t see air but you have a sense of touch, you can feel it. That would be like saying you can’t see stink in the air but you know it’s there. Of course I know it’s there because it stinks! I can’t see the flow of electricity through a bare wire either, but if I touch it, I will sure as hell know it’s there. Is there some other analogy that we may use instead of these old ones that make no nense?

I go to my childrens church with them to eat dinner on wednesday nights. It is a potluck dinner, I bring food and also make a free will donation at the start of the meal. After dinner there is a service which I do not attend, the girls stay with the grandma for the service. I believe it is important for my kids to learn about all different religions in order to make an informed desicion later in life about their faith or lack there of. Do you think this makes me a fence straddler in my convictions. Or do you think that I need to be one of the rude in your face atheists in order to be a "real" atheist?

I have noticed with many christians,christian videos and preachers/teachers this common theme off trying to convince christians that an 'atheist' is really an 'agnostic'. Its seems to be the first order of business when discussing 'atheism'. if you have noticed this also, in your view, what is the agenda behind this 'redifinition'?
I would say i am an atheist, I am without belief in god/s.I was once a christian for many years,but never had this problem with the words atheist and agnostic. But christians seem to take strong issue with the word 'atheist' nowa days, and try and convince me i am really an agnostic? Whats the 'hidden' purpose of this?
or another way of asking it is, Why the focus for christians on this simple word?

im christian and im working on been very dedicated. i started reading the bible from genesis.yes i have friends that r something else actually lots. i have argued with friends and others over religion a lot. but now i try not to bring up the subject. but if it is brought up i just say what i have to say.and show respect and take notes on what the others are sayin. i actually almost lost a good friend because im a christian a shes a jahovah witness.so since then i dont mind havin friends of other religions . cause i dont talk about it around them. i hav learned that people will be different and u hav to learn to get along.
