they say saddams an evil man - that i will agree. but if they prosecute him , they need to prosecute the church. during the course of history the church has been to blame for countless murders, wars and widespread fear - need i point out the crusades, iraq, "witch" burnings, book burnings, northen ireland and about a million with that. so why hs the church not been stopped for this bloddy past which in comparison makes saddam look like an angel?

I have a friend going to Guatemala...I've seen kits with things like a stick of gum to remember to stick it out during trying times, and a rubber band to remind you to be flexible....etc. Has anyone seen a list of survival kit for missionaries?

I know how to speak English (obviously, haha), Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. So, one other than those! I don't really know which to choose, I love languages and kind of want a challenge but I don't want the language to be impossibly hard to learn! Thanks!

If someone you know hung out with 12 guys in dresses who considered him "Divine", and he shunned women.
"Woman, what have I to do with you"? Wouldn't you think he is gay?

I dont think Christian Music will bring us any new revelations but it could strengthen an old one. Did you ever notice that Christian music tends not to put down other people, I never hear "Muslims are Satan and Gays are Hellbound ... yeah yeah Praise God!" instead, it is usually praising God and humbling oneself. Also, it seems to be a common element for people to ask questions or even have doubt in them. I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me, Smell the Color 9 by Chris Rice and Held by Natallie Grant are perfect examples of this. And did you ever notice Christian Music doesn't preach a lot of doctrine either? I don't hear many songs about Calvinism or "Once Saved Always saved" and I never hear in a Christian song anyone saying "Catholics are wrong and Baptists are right"
Dont you think we can learn something from this?

the Earth rests on pillars (I Sam. 2:8),
the earth does not move, but stands still (I Chron. 16:30),
the Earth has ends and edges (Job 37:3),
the earth has four corners (Isa,. 11:12, Rev. 7:1).

The view that the Earth is fixed, immovable and non-rotating (Joshua 10:12; 1 Chronicles 16:30; Psalm 93:1; Psalm 96:10; Psalm 104:5) was used in the Holy Writ to convict Galileo of heresy.

In Daniel 4:10-11, Daniel 'saw a tree of great height at the centre of theEarth, reaching with its top to the sky, and visible on the Earth's farthest bounds'. This would only be possible if the Earth was flat. In the New Testament (Matthew 6:13), Satan took Jesus to the top of a mountain from where they could see all the kingdoms on Earth.

I'm trying to reconcile the idea of the biblical God being a God who loves Humanity, and a few verses in the bible.

Consider the following:
In Exodus 20:22 it says that if anyone sacrifices to a god other than the God of the bible, he will be utterly destroyed.

In Revelations 21:8, it states that unbelievers will be tossed into the lake of fire and brimstone.

By current population distribution, this means over 75% of Humanity is bound for Hell, including the children whose only crime was trusting their parents.

Since God (being omniscient) knew from Genesis 1:1 that He was going to be throwing over 75% of Humanity into Hell, and God can write (and re-write) the rules any way He sees fit, how does this demonstrate God's love for Humanity?

And while I'm at it, what of all those unborn babies? Do they get tossed into Hell along with their pregnant mothers who do not believe in the God of the Bible? New born babies? Toddlers? Rev. 21:8 does not have an exception for youth.

...won't it be awesome!? Think about it: all the "saved" will be whisked away into the cosmos, leaving the rest of us alone!

An entire planet free of dogma-spewing biggots and spiritual know-it-alls. who aren't often literate enough to even read an entire passage from the Bibles they thump. Rapture, indeed!

And if you're one of them, this question forbade your participation in the very first line, making you guilty of voyourism, sneaky-susanism and maybe even breaking and entering. So you're on no ground to lob Holy Handgrandes at ME.

And if you're one of the sinners like me, as soon as The Rapture goes down, the orgy's at my place. BYO Cheeze Wiz.
